Kris Lager Band
A genuine musical journeyman, Kris Lager brings a feel good musical experience everywhere he goes. One of those rare and dynamic performers who deliver a combination of musical ability and charisma, Kris Lager will make you want to dance, clap, and sing along creating a fun and interactive show laced with road tested songs, and contagious grooves.
“I wanna lift up your spirits through song and dance!”, Says Kris Lager. “When music is created from a place of love and delivered with good intentions it is undeniably powerful. There’s nothing better than making the people around you feel good. The ultimate compliment for me is when folks come up to me at after a show and say I was having a horrible day or I was in a bad mood and now I feel great.”
Based out of Omaha, Nebraska, Kris Lager Band has been zig zagging the country spreading their brand of “Feel Good Funk & Heavy Soul” for over 15 years. KLB latest album already garnering rave reviews and airplay all over the world is called ‘Love Songs & Life Lines’. It was recorded at White Wall Studios earlier this year in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and mixed by Grammy Award Winning Producer, Jim Gaines (Santana, Van Morrison, Steve Miller, Stevie Ray Vaughan). The album is a collection of love songs, and various heart tugging tunes featuring a more acoustic and Folksy/Americana side of Kris’ songwriting. The recording is a slight departure from their ‘Swaggering Rock ’n’ Roll’ and Blues infused electric guitar grooves that make up a lot their 2016 release ‘Rise & Shine’.
Kris Lager Band is quietly establishing themselves as one of the most storied and treasured groups in the Midwest’s music scene. They honed their skills for many years in and around Nebraska when in 2007 they were invited to hit the road as indigenous. They backed up frontman and guitar hero, Mato Nanji for over two years and were featured on Indigenous’ Jamie Candiliro Produced (Ryan Adams, Willie Nelson) Vanguard Records release ‘Broken Lands’. You might also recognize Kris Lager from working and touring alongside Andy Frasco & The U.N. The group covered 3 of Kris’ songs on their 2014 release ‘Half A Man’ and have made ‘Sunny Day Souldier’ a staple at their live shows. This year they also featured the composition on their Ruf Records released live album, ‘Songs From The Road’.
The Legendary Bluesman, Tab Benoit is also a fan. Proclaiming “These guys are the real deal! Go see them whenever they come to your town!” He produced and recorded KLB’s 2013 release ‘Platte River Runaway’ at his home studio in Houma, Louisiana. Soon after they worked with Tab Benoit they went to San Francisco and recorded with Bay area funk maestros, Monophonics at their Transistor Studios. The result was 2014’s ‘Heavy Soul & Boogie Trance’ mixed by Orgone’s Sergio Rios. The release caught the attention of Ohio’s Colemine Records, who released two of the tracks as a 45 and also featured the release on their internationally distributed Soul Slabs LP.
Josh Hoyer & Soul Colossal
Night after night at their live shows, Josh Hoyer & Soul Colossal leave it all on the table, bringing crowds palpably authentic music. This is a real working band; music for the people, by the people. You hear the veracity in Hoyer’s voice. You hear the strife of a guitar amp being pushed to its limits. You hear keyboards hammering notes home while emboldened horns soar over the top of a rhythm section akin to a freight train. The raucous funk and smooth soul emanating from the stage dutifully pays homage to the past soul giants while simultaneously charging forward, piloting themselves into the modern era.
This is soul music.
Hoyer formed Josh Hoyer & Soul Colossal in 2012 in famed blues town Lincoln, Nebraska. The award-winning five-piece band includes some of the area's most revered and accomplished musicians. Joining Hoyer (keyboards/vocals) is Blake DeForest (trumpet), Mike Keeling (bass), Benjamin Kushner (guitar), and Larell Ware (drums). Inspired by the sounds of Stax, Motown, Muscle Shoals, New Orleans, Philly and San Francisco, the band continuously crosses musical boundaries both in style and era, and joins forces each show with a common goal
- to have the crowd dancing so much they forget even their smallest troubles.
On January 26th, 2018, Hoyer released The End of the Night, a 3-song EP and solo side project with veteran Nashville songwriters Jay Knowles (Harry Connick Jr, Blake Shelton), and Jon Coleman (Trace Adkins). In the spring of 2018, Josh Hoyer & Soul Colossal recorded their fourth full length record, Do It Now, which was released in Europe in August 2018, concurrent with a 35-city tour spanning 7 countries. Do It Now is slated for a US release on January 18th, 2019.
In 2017, Josh was featured as a contestant on NBC's The Voice, and the band completed their first European tour; a 27-city stint capped with a live album release from their show in Brussels, Belgium. The hard working band completed several national tours from 2015-2017, playing more than 150 shows in 32 states each year, including opening for George Clinton, Charles Bradley, Booker T Jones, and Muscle Shoals Revue. Their year-round touring schedule took them from coast to coast, including several major summer music festivals.
In 2016, the magic of their live show caught the attention of producer Ken Coomer (Wilco, Uncle Tupelo), who joined with the band to record their third full-length album. Running From Love, was recorded at Nashville's historic Sound Emporium, and once again features Hoyer's trademark vocals and the band's signature groove. The album was released on April 8, 2016, on Silver Street Records, and is
available on vinyl, CD, and digital formats.
"If James Brown and Otis Redding had a love child, it would be Josh Hoyer. The Lincoln, Nebraska, soul shouter, and his band of merry soulsters, Soul Colossal, deliver a sound so big, so funky, so wring-the-sweat-out-of-you energetic that it reaches through the speakers and shakes you until you start moving to its groove." - No Depression
Sebastian Lane Band
Sebastian Lane is a fierce young guitarist whose roots dig deep into music history. He is the grandson of Blues Hall of Fame legend, Jimmy Rogers, who gained prominence as the guitarist for Muddy Waters before starting his independent career with Chess Records. Sebastian's father is blues-rock hall of fame artist Jimmy D. Lane, who has played with the likes of Eric Clapton, Mick Jagger, Jim Keltner, Keith Richards, B.B. King, Van Morrison, Jonny Lang, Gary Moore, Double Trouble, Taj Mahal, Stephen Stills, Jeff Healey, Lowell Fulson, and Snooky Pryor, Kim Wilson, Pinetop Perkins, Johnnie Johnson, Kim Wilson, Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, David ‘HoneyBoy’ Edwards, Little Hatch, Willie Kent, Henry Gray, Lazy Lester, and of course his father, Jimmy Rogers; just to name a few. But, the truly fascinating thing about Sebastian Lane is that music is actually just his side hobby. His day job is balancing a future career in medicine. He is currently a medical student at The University of Nebraska Medical Center and will graduate with his M.D. in 2020.
Sebastian himself has played for several different artists throughout his career and has worked as a studio guitarist for many different artists. In 2018 he finally deciding to focus on his own music and developed the Sebastian Lane Band. This group is a modern age rock band with obvious influences from Sebastian's deep heritage in the blues. Their goal is to keep entertaining live rock, southern rock, and blues music around for his generation who has for the most part, forgotten about this. The group features Sebastian on Vocals and Lead Guitar, Ben Curran on guitar, Dain Armbrust on Bass, Kevin Fries on drums and Mitch Towne on keys. Several of these musicians made their start through the Omaha Blues Society and their program called Blues Ed. Ben currently studies guitar and was accepted into Berklee College of music. Both Dain and Kevin have made a name for themselves playing for several different Omaha and Lincoln based blues bands over the years. Mitch Towne is a prominent keyboardist in the area and has worked as a session player for many artists.
They released their debut album "Walkin' By Myself" in July of this last year which featured both Eric Gales and Christone "Kingfish" Ingram. This has landed them opening spots with acts like Jimmie Vaughan, Robert Randolph, Marcus King Band, Eric Gales, Joanne Shaw Taylor, Indigenous, Anthony Gomes, Albert Castiglia and many others!
Sebastian was recently nominated as both "Artist of the Year" and "Best Blues Artist" in the Omaha Entertainment and Arts Awards, with the winner being announced in February of 2019. Their album has gone on to top various blues and rock charts and has accumulated over a quarter million streams on Apple Music and Spotify across over 30 different countries.
