Lo-Fi NYC is the basement comedy show of your dreams. This fast-paced spectacle combines a classic 70's variety show format with the most freewheeling underground comedians New York City has to offer. Featuring sketch, stand-up, musical guests and sledgehammer giveaways, it's like The Muppet Show with fewer puppets and more destruction of property.
Created by Kevin Bauer (Good Morning Astoria) and David Rafailedes (Puppy Bowl XIV), the cast of Lo-Fi includes Blythe Roberson (Author, How To Date Men When You Hate Men), Sage Boggs (The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon), Karen Chee (The New Yorker), Matt DeCaro (Kitten Bowl V), Rachel Pegram (The Week Of), Noah Gebstadt (The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon), Rachel Joravsky (50 Central), Ayo Edebiri (The Rundown), Bob Vulfov (McSweeney's), Aaron Nemo (The Late Show with Stephen Colbert) and resident DJ/MC Taylor Gonzalez (deadassTV).
Kevin Bauer is a Queens-based comedian who has been featured on MTV's 4:20 Theater, Puppy Bowl XIV commercials and Pix11 News at Ten. A member of the comedy group Lo-Fi NYC, Kevin also produces the acclaimed YouTube morning show Good Morning Astoria and performs weekly around the city.
David Rafailedes is a writer and comedian based out of New York City. He has been featured on Funny or Die, the Puppy Bowl XIV and Good Morning Astoria. He is a member of the comedy group Lo-Fi NYC, co-writer and star of the play Cellino V. Barnes and performs regularly around the city.
Blythe Roberson is a writer and comedian who lives in Brooklyn. She is a contributor to The New Yorker, The Onion, and ClickHole and a staffer at The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. She is currently writing a book, How To Date Men When You Hate Men, for Flatiron Books. Blythe is a member of the sketch group Lo-Fi NYC and hosts two variety shows at Union Hall: "The Scientists" and "Book Club."
Sage is a writer for the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. He's also been a freelance contributor for SNL Weekend Update and Playboy. You can catch him performing comedy around New York City.
Karen Chee is a comedy writer/performer who contributes regularly to The New Yorker, McSweeney's, and Splitsider. She has also written for Reductress, Shondaland, Funny or Die, and The Washington Post. Around town, Karen does sketch comedy with Lo-Fi and improv with anyone who will let her.
Matt DeCaro is a mostly sad, kinda funny Brooklyn singer songwriter. He's played Brooklyn Comedy Festival, San Francisco Sketchfest, and a whole lot of basements. He explores depression, past relationships, and overeating in hopes to fall asleep. It's honest, it's catchy, it's sad, it's loud, and it's all on Spotify!
Rachel Pegram is a comedian, actor, writer, and singer living in New York. Rachel was born and raised in Denton, Texas. She's appeared in videos and sketches for MTV, CollegeHumor, Above Average, The Scene, Mashable, Refinery29 and more. She is on the sketch group Lo-Fi NYC which performs monthly shows at Under St. Mark’s and she also hosts a late night-esque variety show with her comedy partner Rachel Joravsky called That Shit Ray monthly. She's also on a house team at UCB.
Noah Gebstadt is a Michigander living, writing, and performing in New York City. Noah is a Tonight Show staffer and has performed at Union Hall, UCB, The Pit, and once did three hours of two-prov with Kevin Bauer at a Park Slope block party (it was rad!). You can find Noah talking about bank robbing surfers and Phantom Thread on his social media (@NoahGeb).
Rachel Joravsky is a comedian, writer and performer in New York City. She is the creator of Damn Lady Laugh and a performer with Story Pirates.
Ayo is a Boston born, Brooklyn based comedian and writer. She wasn't good enough for the Celtics, but is making this work. She's performed in readings, musicals, and improv shows at places like UCB, the PIT, and Dixon Place. She's also appeared in videos for Refinery29 and Funny Or Die. She's in the sketch group Lo-Fi and currently works on The Rundown on BET as the Writers’ Assistant.
Bob Vulfov is a Russian American comedian and writer who lives in Brooklyn, NY. He is a performer at the Upright Citizen's Brigade Theater in New York and can be seen on UCB's Harold Night. His comedy group Area 52 has won UCB’s Cage Match a very unlucky 13 times. He also performs monthly with his sketch group Lo-Fi NYC. As a writer, Bob has been featured in The New Yorker, McSweeney's, and Paste Magazine. Rolling Stone named him one of the 25 Funniest People on Twitter.
Aaron Nemo is a comedian/cartoonist/musician in New York City. You can see him performing monthly in the sketch group Lo-Fi NYC. He contributed jokes at Late Show with David Letterman and now creates stuff for the internet at The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. He has appeared at Just For Laughs Chicago and the Brooklyn Comedy Festival, but did not appear on “Soul Music,” a full visual hip-hop album he produced as a rapping cartoon spirit named Ghostboy.
