Lluvia​ ​Flamenca​ ​returns​ ​for​ ​a​ ​one​ ​night​ ​celebration​ ​of​ ​Flamenco!​ ​​​In its sixth year, ​Lluvia Flamenca​ ​will​ ​present​ ​​Andres Vadín in concert, ​​featuring​ world renowned flamenco guitarist Andres Vadín and company. ​Andres Vadín will​ ​be​ ​accompanied by flamenco dancer and singer Manuel Gutierrez, percussionist Diego Álvarez “El Negro”, bassist Yosmel Montejo, and pianist/accordionist Ioannis Goudelis. Lluvia Flamenca is presented​ ​at​ ​Crescent​ ​Ballroom​ ​in​ ​Phoenix​ ​which​ ​is​ ​the​ ​home​ ​of Tablao​ ​Flamenco​ ​PHX​,​ ​recognized​ ​as​ ​Phoenix’s​ ​most​ ​energetic​ ​flamenco​ ​stage.

Born in Havana, Cuba Andres Vadín is a guitarist, composer, touring artist and educator. Andres began studying music at the age of 10. By 12, Vadín won first prize in the Amadeo Roldan guitar competition. Andres has toured, recorded and collaborated with highly respected flamenco artists such as Jose Mendez, Sabrina Romero, Jorge Pardo, Saul Quiros, Pele (Navajita Platea), Antonio Carmona, Marcus Nand, Josemi Carmona, Concha Buika and Jose Antonio Rodriguez and many others.

About​ ​Tablao Flamenco PHX ​Flamenco Por La Vida (FPLV) has graced the lounge stage at Crescent Ballroom presenting a FREE show every Saturday for 6 years. Co-Directors Angelina Ramirez and Olivia Rojas present Tablao Flamenco PHX featuring local, national and international flamenco artists. In 2015 Phoenix New Times Best Of, FPLV was recognized as “Best Weekly Flamenco Show”. For Lluvia Flamenca 6, FPLV will present a pre-show performance with Arizona flamenco artists Misael Barraza-Díaz, Jason Martinez and Mele Martinez in the lounge at Crescent Ballroom.

Andres Valdin Valdes is cuban. he studied classical guitar in havana and won the first prize in the Amadeo Roldan guitar contest when he was only twelve. he graduated from the Guillermo Tomas and Amadeo Roldan Conservatory of music and developed a passion for all kinds of music namely cuban, popular, jazz, rock, flamenco and classical. he took master classes with Joaquin Clerch, Leo Brouwer, Jose Luis Rodriguez, Gerardo Nunez, Paco Jarana, Alfredo Lagos among other great guitarists. he also learned to accompany flamenco dancers like Maria Juncal as well as flamenco singers. his musical education let him move with total ease between all styles of music playing and making wonderful arrangements for the blues, the bossa nova, for flamenco, jazz, rock, pop, european folk, middle eastern and cuban songs. he composed music for the Compania de danzas espanolas Aires and the Compania flamenca Ecos.

Andres played and recorded with many artists and groups such as Aceituna sin Hueso, Asere, Billy Cobhan, El Chato, Jorge Pardo, Saul Quiros, Antonio Carmona, Falete, Golden Glow, Jose Fernandez, Wadih El Safi and many others, touring throughout the united kingdom and europe, cuba and lebanon and playing in many festivals (Peter Gabriel Womad, Glastombury, Musicport world music festival).

he started collaborating with singer/song writer kamal kozah in 2002 recording his guitar playing on mar then he went on composing, recording and signing the arrangements of over forty songs on projects such as in my house , chant de nuit, ka and fi layla, to be released shortly.

Angelina Ramirez is the founder and artistic director of Flamenco Por La Vida in Phoenix, Arizona.

Along with performing and teaching, Angelina produces two festivals in Arizona, Lluvia Flamenca and The Phoenix Festival de España. Angelina also tours with world-renowned, New York based company Noche Flamenca. Angelina was selected to participate in the National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures 2017 Leadership Institute. In 2016, Angelina was also selected to participate in the inaugural Creative Aging Teaching Artist Institute through the Arizona Commission on the Arts. Angelina was nominated for an Arizona Governor’s Arts Award in 2016 and her company Flamenco Por La Vida was awarded the 2014 Phoenix Mayors Arts Award for Best Dance Organization.


Olivia Rojas is a traveling flamenco singer artist. She began her professional career singing choral and Mexican rancheras. In 2004, Olivia began singing flamenco cante and has toured throughout the United States with Calo Flamenco: Ballet de Martin Gaxiola and Chris Burton Jacomé Flamenco Ensemble. She has had the honor of performing at the prestigious Tablao Flamenco Albuquerque during the Albuquerque Flamenco Festival for the past two years and recently performed with Sachiko “La Chayí”, DanzArtsSan Diego, EmiArteFlamenco and La Juerga Flamenco Ensemble. She has performed throughout the State of Arizona with Alma Performing Arts, Carlos Montufar – World Dance, Mosaico, Yumi La Rosa Ensemble, Flamenco del Pueblo Viejo and Inspiracion Flamenca. Olivia is Co-Owner of Arizona based, Flamenco Por La Vida along with Angelina Ramirez. She performs in various venues throughout the Valley and teaches a weekly flamenco cante and communication class at the Lost Leaf in downtown Phoenix. Flamenco Por La Vida offers Lecture Demonstrations throughout the Valley and is currently holding a weekly movement and music clinic at the Mayo Clinic Hospital – Phoenix.


With the flash of a colorful skirt, Flamenco por la Vida's artistic director Angelina Ramirez transports her audience to a place far from the Sonoran desert -- the south of Spain, to be exact. The combination of sweet Spanish lyrics and dramatic dance poses may not be what you'd expect to catch at the Crescent, but the intimate setting makes for a performance that's enrapturing, exotic, and unexpected pre-concert entertainment.

The mission of Flamenco Por La Vida is to build an understanding of and appreciation for Flamenco in Arizona by presenting festivals and professional flamenco performances, engaging diverse communities and offering classes to students of all ages, races and economic backgrounds.

After (6) seasons of performances that brought audiences to thunderous acclaim, “Lluvia Flamenca” returns for a one night celebration of Flamenco! In this year’s edition, Lluvia Flamenca presented by Arizona native and American flamenco dancer, Angelina Ramirez. In addition, Lluvia Flamenca will include over fifteen local and national artists performing on multiple stages. The event kicks off with a pre-show of performances by Youth Flamenco Artists hailing from New Mexico and Arizona. Lluvia will be presented at Crescent Ballroom in Phoenix which is the home of Tablao Flamenco PHX, recognized as Phoenix’s most energetic flamenco stage.
