Richard’s ‘Best Actor in a Leading Role’ portrayal of Frank Sinatra in the hard-hitting drama, Rat Pack Confidential on the London stage brought him international acclaim and a request by Royal Command to sing for Prince Charles and Prince Albert of Monaco. He has performed in concert halls with philharmonic and symphony orchestras, with big bands and on the stages of the worlds most respected jazz clubs, including Ronnie Scott’s in London.
Richard’s most recent album, ‘Lost and Found’ was recorded at Capitol and East West Studios in LA, featuring original and classic songs in big band and intimate jazz stylings, with players including Sinatra’s band mates and the hottest new LA jazz talent.
On TV, Richard is known for Mr Benson in ‘House of Lies’ and Arnaud in ‘Jane the Virgin’ and the movies ‘I Capture the Castle’, ‘My Week with Marilyn’ and recently ‘Palau’.
Richard recently returned from the Edinburgh Festival, Scotland where his one man sell-out powerhouse play, ‘Sinatra: RAW’ won universal 5-stars and full houses.
Critics have said:

'His selection of material is impeccable and his style is shark skin sharp' - George Harris, Jazz Weekly
'Shelton is the essence of cool' - Bonnie Priever, The LA Examiner
'Simply phenomenal’ - ★★★★★ Mike Young, BBC
'A superior singer who tips his hat to a legend with grace and elegance-an album that Sinatra himself would be proud of’ - ★★★★ - Edward Blanco, All About Jazz
‘Richard Shelton is quite simply phenomenal’ - BBC
“Shelton reproduces Sinatra’s dark, rich, warm, baritone with such effortless precision that you are totally transported.” – The American
