Bootleg Theater Presents
Grand Canyon Album Release Show
Misty Boyce, Los Kingdom
2220 Beverly Blvd
Los Angeles, CA, 90057
This event is 21 and over
In an era of computer-made, beat-driven music, Grand Canyon is the antithesis of modern pop music. However, by focusing on musicianship and timeless songwriting, and drawing on the inspiration of the classic sounds and arrangements of the 70s, it is the kind of pop music that will be wafting through the canyons for a long time.
The Los Angeles based rock and roll band, fronted by Casey Shea (guitar/vocals) and Amy Wilcox (vocals), and driven by Joe Guese (guitar), Darice Baily (keys, vocals), Jon Cornell (bass), and Fitz Harris (drums) has self-recorded a debut album to be released Summer 2018.
Indie singer/songwriter Misty Boyce is a solo artist who’s also forged a career as a keyboardist and backing vocalist (and occasional guitarist) in touring bands for the likes of Lord Huron, Sara Bareilles, Ingrid Michaelson, and BØRNS. A native of New Mexico, Boyce took to the idea of a career in music at a young age, and began writing songs while in primary school. She would eventually go on to enroll at the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, where she studied jazz piano.
Boyce's newest and third full-length record, Get Lost, a collaboration with friends Lera Lynn and Josh Grange, was released February 16th. Receiving rave reviews from Nylon, Uproxx, and landing spots on Apple Music’s The A-List: Singer/Songwriter playlist it finds Boyce wresting valiantly with tragedy and loss, death, drugs and religion, isolation, depression, and the emptiness of fame.
