Silverthorne Theater Co.
Silverthorne Theater Company is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit professional theater organization based at the Arts Block, 289 Main Street, Greenfield, Massachusetts. We are committed to providing opportunities for meaningful paid work to local and regional theater artists and to contributing to the cultural life and economic vitality of Greenfield and the greater Franklin County area. Our mission is to produce the very best dramatic materials, whether new or from the ranks of established works, that focus on the human condition and bring unheard voices to the stage. These must challenge both audiences and actors to think deeply about their theatrical experience and carry these experiences well beyond the walls of the theater.
$20 general admission - $18 student/senior
Written by Massachusetts-based writers Will Chalmus and Steve Henderson. Directed by Keith Langsdale. World premiere. Walter, a black man, breaks into the home of Joe Renshaw, an older white man, late at night. Walter has fled the scene of an altercation with a white off-duty police officer, during which he took the officer’s gun. It is not the way it seems. As Joe and Walter struggle to establish a fragile détente, Officer Lou Rankin finds the house. A taut life and death stalemate ensues as the three desperate men strive to stay alive and to protect their families. Issues of race, trust, responsibility and last straws comprise powerful themes in the story.
