The Echo Presents
The Living Roomers, Slut Island
1822 W Sunset Blvd
Los Angeles, California, 90026
This event is all ages
Liily are five Los Angeles teenagers hailing from deep in the San Fernando Valley to the edges of the Inland Empire. Emerging from a new and burgeoning culture of youths in the city, their wildly frenetic shows point to a new vision for alternative and hard rock music in 2018 where such things aren't supposed to exist anymore: one that is actually a hell of a lot of fun. Liily makes music that draws on all the jagged stimuli of their upbringings to make something distinctly Los Angeles in 2018.
You wouldn't know it from the walls of death they're forming at their shows, but Liily is creating a space for their generation. With the aid of their deep fraternal bonds, Liily is pulling an exhilarating scene out of rock's current murmur.
The Living Roomers
The Living Roomers started in the living room of the band’s home in the Mid City of LA in late 2017. Comprised of Tru, Lucky and Rico, the Roomers are influenced by the Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Ramones, Velvet Underground, X, The White Stripes, Joy Division and Courtney Barnett among many others.
The trio just self-released their first single, the punk anthem “Screw You” in a limited edition of 500 copies on 7” colored vinyl and available only at their shows.
They continue to play around the LA area including at the Echo, The Mint, Three Clubs and Hotel Cafe and recently drew over 100 people to the Blue Collar Dog stage at the Echo Park Rising Festival in August.
While playing around town, the band are in and out of the studio recording up and coming singles, including a special midterm election version of “Screw You” and another powerful punk song “I Want It”.
Slut Island is the culmination of two really hot cool super talented and modest artists plus one shy boy who also plays bass in a church band but has to keep Slut Island a secret, singing about real life issues including hpv, net neutrality, sex in a graveyard, wanting to see someone you love die, being a bad church boy and much more.
