Miriam and Nobody's Babies
We’re kicking off the Summer with One Grand Rock’n’roll Party - Saturday June 23, at Cafe Nine. You can bet your bottom dollar this Party got your New York Cool, to make everyone grooving and swaying with smiles.
Come join in the fun!
Miriam & Nobody's Babies (Norton Records)Miriam Linna will be joined onstage by her backing band, Nobody's Babies, led by Sam Elwitt, Bruce Bennett, Matt Clarke, Justina Elwitt, Matt Fiveash, Ira Kaplan and David Lindsay.
Miriam Linna began her music career as the first drummer for the Cramps in 1976 New York. The Sudbury, Ontario, native went on to pound the skins for the Zantees and frat-rock luminaries the A-Bones (who appeared at the 2009 Ponderosa Stomp backing Roy Loney and Cyril Jordan of the Flamin' Groovies). Linna is perhaps best known for co-founding the legendary Kicks magazine and Stomp favorite Norton Records, both with her husband, Billy Miller.
In 2014, Linna teamed up with producer Sam Elwitt to release her first solo album, the wall-of-sound tour de force "Nobody's Baby" (Norton), which was lauded as the best album of 2014 and reached #1 on the influential WFMU. Linna hit the ground running in 2015 with the smash single "The Hand Don't Fit The Glove" b/w "Take Me For A Little While." She is currently working on a new album for fall release.
Gotham Rockets always bring the goods for a can't stop won't stop show that is not soon forgotten. They lay down a soulful kind of rock'n'roll liberally sprinkled with both rhythm and blues. Can you imagine if The J. Geils Band and The Raspberries had a baby?!? Those are the sounds that keep audiences stompin' their feet, shakin' their tailfeathers, and groovin' all night long.
This badass band of NYC rock'n'roll veterans features Matt Langone, Scott Kitchen, Steve Greenfield, and Mighty Joe Vincent. These dudes' past bands include: Andy G & The Roller Kings, The Devil Dogs, The Fleshtones, Jack Black, Mad Daddies, The Prissteens, Simon & The Barsinisters, The Swingin' Neckbreakers, and The Trash Mavericks.
A heady brew of fuzz guitar and screaming organ crawling out of the leather-man’s cave. Get ready, Here Comes The Sparkomatics from Bristol. Garage rock n'roll, cunning song-craft, and an unrelenting show; will bend your brain and melt your face.
