Pills Pills Pills!
Sometimes, pills are the source of an addiction. Other times, they help stop diarrhea. Hosts Anita Flores and Natalie Wall invite comedians to talk about their relationship with pills through stand-up, storytelling, poetry, or whichever way feels right. And yes, gummy vitamins count.
Josh Gondelman is a writer and comedian who incubated in Boston before moving to New York City, where he currently lives and works as a writer for Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. Onstage, Josh charms audiences using his good-natured storytelling and cracks them up with his sharp, pointy wit. He takes topics from surprise parties to his experience teaching preschool and makes them all equally hilarious. This spring, he made his late night standup debut on Conan (TBS), and he can also be seen on the first season of Night Train With Wyatt Cenac (SeeSo). Josh’s newest comedy album Physical Whisper debuted in March at #1 on the iTunes comedy charts (as well as #4 on the Billboard comedy chart) and stayed there for…well…longer than he expected, honestly.
New York-based, Queens-native, stand-up comedian, actress, comedy writer and comedic improviser. She's going on tour with Awkward Sex and the City and hosts the shows The Black Out and Big Mouths! Her make up is on fleek and her Snapchat is lit: Karobeanah
Calvin Cato
Calvin S. Cato got his comedic start with the Wesleyan University stand-up comedy troupe Punchline, then transferred his unique brand of humor to New York City in 2006. He's performed in comedy clubs, off-Broadway theaters, coffee houses, the backs of bars, and even a beauty salon. He appeared on the Game Show Network, showcased on QPTV, performed on the critically acclaimed Naked Comedy Show, and produced an unemployment/recession-themed comedy show at Comix Comedy Club from 2008 to 2010. He has also been favorably reviewed in The Examiner, The Collared Sheep and Inside New York. In 2011, he was a featured act in the North Carolina Comedy Arts festival and was a warm-up comic for the 1st Annual Funny Girls in Film Festival. He is a part of the 2012 Out of Bounds Festival in Austin, Texas. Come catch a high-energy act that promises to never be the same show twice!
Anita Flores has written for Above Average, Nerve, Paste magazine, Portable TV, and Laughspin. She's performed at The Moth, Tom Shillue's Funny Story, and is currently on tour with Awkward Sex and the City. She has a Web series called Questionable Drawings where she asks comedians weird questions and animates their responses.
