Sam Hammerman is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer. His music lives in the Pop world, with a melodic sensibility steeped in the sounds of classic soul, rock and jazz. Some of his influences include Jeff Buckley, John Mayer, Radiohead, D’angelo, The Beatles and Tame Impala. His songs reverberate from the human experience, from personal struggles to profound transcendence and freedom. The music carries an uplifting, spiritual and meditative undertone.
Sam grew up in Boston, MA and trained at Berklee College of Music. He released his first EP “Liberation” while based in the vibrant creative hub of Austin, TX, working with some top local talent including award-winning producer Dwight Baker (Wind and the Wave, Kelly Clarkson). After relocating to NYC in 2016, he produced and released a single called “Perfect Diamond.” He is currently delving further into the world of music production by working on his own and in collaboration with others, including producer Luke Tozour (Jamie Cullum, Katy Perry) out of California. Sam released a single “Miss the Days” in March 2018 that is the fruit of this process. He performs both solo and with a band in NYC and beyond, most notably Rockwood Music Hall, Pianos, and the Middle East in Boston.
