A singer-songwriter hailing from the East Village, Riley Pinkerton has taken her background of lyrically driven acoustic solo performances and transitioned into the chorus-laden-Gibson-SG-wielding ringleader of a captivating and dynamic full band show. From beneath an iconic mop of red hair, Pinkerton’s pure and lilting voice weaves and sails its way through heavy drums, thick bass, and searing lead guitar. Equal parts jubilance and melancholy, Pinkerton is unexpectedly enamoring. With tenebrous songs rooted in introspection; relaying tales of human discord, disconnect, female strife, and the occasional murder, her charming delivery and sharp demeanor breathes a life all its own.
In January 2016 Pinkerton released her debut EP titled "Do You Have A Car," recorded at Yes, Master Studios in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Brian Carroll of Folk/Americana music review site, Red Line Roots, described Pinkerton's "Do You Have A Car" as "Beautiful in the simplicity of its execution, but profound all the while in how she can make you feel so much with so little in a few guitar lines and a voice..." and "Moving, poignant, [and] ethereal...”
Following the release of "Do You Have A Car" Pinkerton has been touring the continental U.S. as a solo/duo acoustic act with a variety of fellow singer-songwriters as well as performing regularly throughout NYC/Brooklyn with her full band in anticipation of Pinkerton's debut album, "Nothing Ever Is," which is set to release in August 2018.
