Sobae / 소베

Joining artists like The Weeknd, Bryson Tiller, and Kehlani in the Future R&B scene, Sobae brings her own flair to the genre in her debut single, “Switch Up”. One of the first female Korean-American singer-songwriters in the genre, Sobae demonstrates her songwriting ability on the track as she croons a neo-soul infused melody over a soft trap beat. The contrast between Sobae’s signature silky, seemingly effortless vocals and witty, attitude-filled lyrics are but one of the alluring aspects of “Switch Up.” With an unconventional and colorful background leading up to her music career, Sobae is truly ready to “switch things up” in every sense of the word — from shaking up the Future R&B scene to leading what she calls an “Asian American cultural movement”.

Ace Henderson, a Brooklyn-born songwriter and recording artist has set his own framework for years to come as he focuses on developing his sound, and expanding his catalog of growth as evidenced by the explosion of his debut singles "28" and "3K15" - the former an ode to the New Jack Swing era, via a thinly-sliced Christopher Williams sample, and the latter an interpolation of "Sorry, Ms. Jackson" by Outkast.

Henderson took no-time to embrace his individuality and in the summer of 2016, record label and media platform Saint Heron released Henderson's melodic journey - "venaqui (Come My Way)" which jump-started his introduction to national coverage as an emerging talent.

After a year-long hiatus from releasing music to prepare his debut album, Henderson emerged from those sessions in the spring of 2017 with the heart-wrenching single, "runaway!" produced by L' Camino. While Ace handled the wheel for the glassy-eyed ballad "getaway driver" and received a sizzling summer anthem from Grammy-nominated producer Made of Oak to round out a galvanizing display of artistic freedom - the majority of the EP is soundtracked at the hands of the enigmatic Michael McKain ("push"/ "on the way"/ "third shift"), but it's the bouquet of vocal layering by Niya Wells and Marc Anthony Figueras' craftsmanship on guitar that captures Henderson's ability to blend color and sound into a moment.
