Oh He Dead
Oh He Dead came to life in Washington D.C. in the summer of 2015 when Johnson and Valenti met serendipitously on H street. After finding their musical match in one another, they quickly collected some of the best musicians in Washington, DC, and formed Oh He Dead.
Perhaps best described as indie-soul, Oh He Dead mixes in healthy doses of classic R&B vibes, funk, and folk with deliciously addictive songwriting. Led by the stirring harmonies of Cynthia Johnson and Andy Valenti, and the masterful guitarring fo Alex Salser, Oh He Dead mixes Motown influences with poignant lyrics to move both your soul and your feet.
Reed Appleseed is an alternative folk-rock, nightmare-country hybrid. Consisting of the classic four-piece rock and roll band setup, they pay homage to the music they've grown up on, while finding new sounds to give life to the art and push it forward. Simple, beautiful melodies and lush harmonies set the scene for thoughtful, witty lyrics, all held together by a rhythm section so deep in the pocket that they may no longer be wearing pants by the end of the night.
Aurean (After-Show DJ Set)
The Washington, DC based duo of Aurean have roots of musical inspiration that run deep and wide; their emotionally melodic progressive sound still drawing from the pair’s house and trance influences. This becomes instantly apparent in their versatile, genre-bending productions and live sets, often accentuating their energetic, synth-filled drops with sweeping, dramatic breakdowns.
Starting in earnest with their official 'Cool Without You' remix for Tommie Sunshine and The Disco Fries, they have continued their clever streak with official remixes for indie darlings Lostboycrow, Pr0files, Linney and Ella On The Run.
On stage, they can be found regularly in DC performing with, and in support of, some of the true legends of progressive and trance, such as Above and Beyond, Dirty South, ATB and Morgan Page. With additional remixes on tap, as well as their debut EP on Freegrant Music, Nick and Jake are excited about what the future holds for the project.
