Sights & Sounds: Ireland Today // Art Festival

Dupont Underground

The Dupont Underground is a 501(c)(3) cultural organization committed to developing a multidisciplinary platform for creative expression. We are transforming a public work – the subterranean streetcar station in Dupont Circle – into a new public infrastructure to support creative exchange, contemporary arts practice, and an ongoing conversation about the city.

Solas Nua

Solas Nua, ‘new light’ in Irish, is the only organization in the United States dedicated exclusively to contemporary Irish arts. Based in Washington, D.C., our mission is to bring the best new Irish artistic talent to American audiences.

We began in 2005 with our smash hit production of Disco Pigs by Enda Walsh. For over a decade we have brought our audiences an exciting mix of modern Irish theatre, music, dance, visual arts, film, and literary events including the annual Capital Irish Film Festival and Irish Book Day.

2011 DC MAYOR'S ARTS AWARD FOR INNOVATION IN THE ARTS
NOMINATED FOR MULTIPLE HELEN HAYES AWARDS
We enjoy support from an expanding audience, the D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities, Culture Ireland, the Irish Film Institute, the Irish Film Board, the Embassy of Ireland and the Northern Ireland Bureau.
