Denita Inez is a dancer, choreographer, and instructor who focuses on dance as an accessible form of entertainment and self-exploration. She is currently on staff at Lake Forest Dance Academy, Dancing with Class, and May I Have This Dance. She has danced with Chicago Dance Crash, Modern Clave, and Noumenon Dance Ensemble. Denita is the artistic director of Desueño Latin and Desueño Vision dance troupes. Fun Fact: Denita enjoys playing designer board games with her current favorite being Dominion.
This is Venice’s third season with Desueño Vision and she is excited to be dancing with this company again. Venice is also an aspiring actress and has done several stage plays and film. In between dance rehearsals and memorizing her lines, she enjoys hanging out with Netflix.
Danielle is youth advocate and a percussive dance artist with a background in hip-hop, soca and afro-dancehall Fusion. She has danced with Matter Dance Company and Fiyah Fit Dance group. This is her second season dancing with Desueño. Fun Fact: Danielle has a B.A in Theater and loves to travel and cook in her spare time.
Desiree is a sensual and free-spirited artist that seeks to naturally ignite bodily movements through interpretation of musicality, group energy and positive thinking. She is fairly new to professional dancing and happily experiencing her first season with Desueño Latin. Fun Fact: Desiree loves scrapbooking and can name all the US states in alphabetical order in less than 15 secs.
Octavia Reese is a multi-disciplined polymath with a passion to make a difference in the world and lift up her neighbours to their own greatness. She is a cellist, author, dancer and much more. This is her second season with Desueño Vision.
Florida native Gabriela Ortiz is a business and dance professional in the Chicagoland area. Gabriela has performed at Carnival Chicago, opened for Beyonce's dancers at the Shrine and enjoyed choreographing for Chicago-based companies and shows. She has performed works by Pam McNeil, Trae Turner, Sofia Perez, international choreographer Xu Chung and danced with Urban Burlesque. This is her first season with Desueño.
Susanna Hostetter holds a B.A. in Anthropology and Dance from Macalester College. Susanna has trained in modern, jazz, and Latin, and studied West African dance forms in Tamale, Ghana. She teaches dance to CPS students as a Teaching Artist and shares her love of movement with adults as a dance fitness instructor. This is Susanna's second season with Desueño.
Fun Fact: Susanna has travelled to over 30 countries and loves plotting new adventures!
Lola is a modern/contemporary dancer based in Chicago. She also directs the dance program at Kenwood Academy High School. She has danced with Movement Revolution, Matter Dance Company, and this is her first season with Desueño! Fun fact: she has a Spotify playlist for every mood.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, Matthew is a Dance Educator from Illinois State University. While there, he was a member of their dance company for three years and recently completed his studies under scholarship. This is his first time dancing with Desueño Vision and is very excited to share this love for dance with everyone. Fun Fact: During his free time Matthew enjoys crafting and building cosplay armour and collecting display swords.
Tickets Available at the Door
Desueño Dance will present an evening of choreography featuring Desueño Vision, a Latin Jazz ensemble, and Desueño Latin. The performance showcases current Desueño repertoire. After the performance, there will be social dancing with Salsa, Bachata, and ChaCha.
