The Chords UK

South East London group, formed in 1978. Heavily associated with the mod revival. Their style was a combination of punk and the 60s influenced sound of the time.

RAF was formed in 2011 with a simple goal - create punchy, danceable, music with as much style and attitude as possible. This is Mod music from Across the Pond. A full frontal assault of catchy 3 minute songs delivered in sharp suits and vintage instruments. No standing around. The foursome of lads includes Chris Rich (guitar & vox), John Crawford (bass & vox), Josh Millman (guitar & vox) and Brad Pharis (drums). Come be a part of "The British Inversion." We are the Mods!

The Gurkhas

Sidewalk Society

Hailing from Southern California, U.S.A., Sidewalk Society is Dan Lawrence (guitar/vocals), Dan West (bass/vocals) and Jerry Buszek (drums)—a three-piece whose unique approach and style pay homage to the groundbreaking music that emerged in the mid to late ’60s and early ’70s (the Kinks, the Small Faces, T.Rex and Big Star) while maintaining a quality entirely modern and relevant.
The band was founded by childhood friends Dan Lawrence and Dan West after bonding in the seventh grade over a mutual love for The Who Sell Out album. The addition of Jerry Buszek on drums has provided an additional boost to this power trio’s diverse sound, which owes as much to the spirit of bebop as it does to classic mod and psychedelia.
Sidewalk Society has played clubs around Los Angeles and the Bay Area, garnering them accolades from the scene’s cognoscenti for their dynamic live work. They have been played several times on BBC6 Music’s Gideon Coe radio show, and other domestic and international terrestrial and internet radio stations. Sidewalk Society has enjoyed a nearly decade-long relationship with U.K. indie label Fruits der Mer (FdM), which highlights their special ability to remaster the masters and has helped them build an international fan base.

Their most recent LP for FdM¬, Strange Roads: The Songs of Rolled Gold, is a reimagining of the classic “lost album” by U.K. ’60s group The Action, and has been widely praised, not least by original members of The Action.

“A brilliant, bonkers and brave idea that exceeds all expectations.”
—Andy Morten, Shindig! Magazine

“The second incarnation of The Action, brilliantly re-birthed by the Sidewalk Society.”
—Roger Powell, The Action

“I didn't know what to expect but I think the album will get a lot of interest. There's nothing quite like it out there.”
—Ian Whiteman, The Action
Their previous LP, Venus, Saturn and the Crescent Moon (Grandioso, 2012), also received rave reviews. Shindig! Magazine said “grooves on jagged, aggressive power pop, breezy orchestral pop . . . and jamming mod-psych freeform with amazing results.”
