Judah Kim & The Assasination (Record Release Show)

Judah Kim and The Assassination made their live debut on June 9, 2017.

Judah Kim served as the songwriter for Indie Rock Band, Stonethrown. From 2005 to 2012 the band reached a sound level of success. The Philadelphia quartet played to capacity crowds at the city's best loved live music venues and appeared on several FM stations throughout their career. The band gained performance slots at some of the most important and emerging festivals on the east coast. In 2009, Six of the ten songs off of Stonethrown's full length record "Where You Stand" were licensed to international and domestic televison programs. In 2011 "Comeback Kid," from that same album was placed in the new 90210. "Girl" off of their second release, "The Nightmares ep," was picked up by ESPN on ABC, and continues to play across the world. In 2010, renowned producer Henry Hirsch signed a publishing deal with Stonethrown and produced their next record "Chasin Me Around." The band played it's last show to an overwhelming crowd at Philadelphia's World Cafe Live Downstairs in 2012.

Since the band's last effort, Kim has released an ep of solo material called "My Favorite Shuffle." All tracks were recorded at his project studio Scarlet Oak Sound and were performed almost entirely without other musicians. Each track off "My Favorite Shuffle" has it's own character. The record's lead track, "Just Because," mixes '60's British Invasion with '90's Brit Pop and early 2000's New York Indie Rock. "Watching Ships" introduces experimentation with country two-step and harmonic content that is akin to bends-era radiohead. Next, Kim drops the dynamic level In the modest heartfelt "Strobe." This song starts off ethereal with acoustic guitar, synthesizer and rhodes accompanying Kim's soft - lower register vocals and eventually builds into a momentous cinematic event. The next song, "Why don't you Shake that Beautiful Thing!?" immediately knocks out the solitary, low, serene mood of "Strobe" with it's quirky funk - spy theme guitar riff. The song explodes and drips with haunting elements of classical, funk, sex, dracula and rock'n'roll topped with female vocalist Ang Bocca who tears through the song with her rich, soulful, honest delivery. Last but not least, the ep is finalized with "Doc." Kim was hired to write this song for a documentary by Stanford X Medicine. It starts off with an intimate vocal/keyboard and is graciously united with a smoothly blended magical chorus of vocals guitar, organ, bass and drums ala-abbey road.

Tiny Vices

After a nearly 10 year hiatus, the boys from Philadelphia post punk outfit Aim of Conrad are back with an ice cream cone in one hand and a cigarette in the other. Known for their raucous live shows, Tiny Vices craft a sound that isn't afraid to be as dance-able as it is driving, controlled as it is chaotic, and dreamy as it is heavy. Equal parts Queens of the Stone Age, Hot Snakes, Metz, and The Jesus Lizard, the boys always find a way to keep the hips shaking and the riffs narstie.

On their debut EP "Honey Up", the boys worked with engineer Matt Poirier at Miner Street Recordings to craft 5 songs they describe as "midnight music". We have no idea what that means, but "Honey Up" sure brings the goods. The drums are huge, the guitars snarl, and with every verse he howls, singer Matt Smyth creates a world slightly out of focus and super fun.

Nathan Allebach

Raised in the northeast right outside of Philadelphia, Nathan Allebach's storytelling has been rooted in the grounds of religious tensions, existential crisis, and overall themes of growing up as a twenty-something.

In 2010 he began his musical career with a duet titled, "Earl and Raine" and in 2012 he began also playing in Philly-based folk group Former Belle.

After leaving Former Belle in 2013, Allebach started a new duo with fellow songwriter Rachel Moyer named, "Nathan Earl and Rachel Joy." The duet released two records in 2015 and was featured multiple times on WXPN and NoiseTrade.com.
