The band was founded in the early summer of 2015 by singers Mike Iorio and Danny Sales who were childhood friends. Growing up together made the writing process a breeze and in no time, an EP worth of songs was written. Soon after, in the fall semester of 2015, drummer Joe Turner and percussionist (and rain stick specialist) Alec Tallman, fellow classmates of Mike Iorio, joined the group and Elephants Dancing transformed from just a summer project into a band in full swing.
Now Elephants Dancing is a reggae band characterized by their funk, hip-hop, and rock influences. The music of Elephants Dancing, portrayed very accurately by the EP title, "Clear Skies," sends messages of good vibes and positivity by means of infectious grooves and fun, rhythmically complex songs. Their first release, "Clear Skies (The EP)," consists of 8 songs including, "Panic Static," the track for the band's first music video, and the 2016 Steamtown Song of the Year. That summer, Elephants Dancing's first full length, "Rituals," was released boasting 19 songs and featuring award winning, "Panic Static." In the coming future the band plans to tour and prepare for a second album.
Tropic Vibez is a NJ/NY based reggae hop band. Through our music, we combine influences of Jamaican dancehall and reggae with modern Cali Roots, to bring you a music experience like no other. Some of those influences include Buju Banton, Don Carlos, Sublime, and Slightly Stoopid. Check out the music, feel the Tropic Vibe.
