Doors 7:30 PM / Show 8:00 PM (event ends at 10:30 PM)
Ever fantasize about starting a band with your best friend? Someone you’ve known forever, who finishes your musical sentences, and loves you unconditionally? Meet the sisters behind King Willow, Amanda and Julianna Salguero. Northeast natives and currently based out of San Francisco, these bicoastal babes bring a quality of vulnerability and earnestness to upbeat indie pop.
With diverse influences ranging from modern pop and R&B to old-school folk, Julianna's evocative songwriting tells stories cloaked in catchy melodies punctuated with powerful harmonies, honed from singing together (basically) since birth. Their “mature and mesmerizing indie pop” (Wolf in a Suit) ranges from slower huskier numbers to upbeat anthems. The sisters lure you in with their vulnerability, sultry harmonies, and glossy nostalgic finish.
King Willow released their self-titled debut EP in March 2017 through 11th Avenue Records.
Cape Weather is a collaboration between Natalie Smith and Eric Jackowitz. They’ve both played in bands for years; Eric playing drums for Nick Waterhouse, and Natalie releasing music under solo monikers. With Eric at the production helm, their upcoming debut was made over the internet, with instruments being recorded and mixed in LA, Oakland, Nashville, New York, and Europe.
Jeremy Ferrara is a folk singer and guitarist from San Francisco, California. With introspective lyrics and guitar playing full of subtlety, his songs are rich with vulnerability, intimacy, and a style that doesn’t hold back. Having played in bands since he was 12, Jeremy found his voice as a solo artist in the DIY scene of Santa Barbara.
Ferrara’s most recent EP “Shining Garden” was recorded live to tape in a good friend’s bedroom, and it exemplifies his songwriting in its purest form.
