Werk Ethic: 80s and 90s House and Techno
Ken Lazee, Nick Garcia
1115 U Street NW
Washington, DC, 20009
This event is 21 and over
DC-based producer and DJ Nick Garcia is well versed in house music, having helmed the historic Yoshitoshi Recordings for two years. His love affair with synthesizers has landed his solo records on labels like Edmonton deep house imprint Night Vision and Boston’s bass music outfit Lifted Contingency. In March, Nick released his Fenix EP on Night Vision, which quickly rose to Beatport’s top 20. His DJ sets are quirky and diverse, pulling from deep house, left field, and techno, and this has earned him spots on bills with artists like Kornel Kovacs, Sophie, Jacques Greene, and Kaytranada.
U Street Music Hall is proud to present DC’s first all 80’s and 90’s house and techno night, WERK ETHIC. Join residents Ken Lazee and Nick Garcia as they take you on a journey through the greatest deep house, jackin’ house, garage, Detroit techno, and acid records that defined the early years of electronic dance music. Let us transport you back to the early days of rave, the summer of love, the golden era.
