In the 1960's Norman left Temple University in Philadelphia Pa. (where he was studying medicine) and ended up a student at Julliard as well as a in-demand New York City Jazz drummer with Miles Davis as his friend and mentor. After a string of hits with Budda Records he planted the seed for the the love sound track of a generation or two. With songs like “You Are My Star Ship”, "Valentine Love", and “Betcha By Golly Wow” he sold millions of records and received a Grammy nomination. Once Clive Davis got wind of the Norman Connors experience he signed him for a 6 record deal making Norman the first African American on ARISTA's label. Clive Davis (the label's founder) recognized Connors as a multi-talent: producer, composer, and arranger that had an uncanny ability to always find and discover phenomenal singers like Dee Dee Bridgewater, Phyllis Hyman, and Jean Carn; and then bring them to the national spot light.
February 14, 2018 will be an evening of sexy, sweet, and soul as the audience begins to reminisce to the Norman Connors song book they will also be entertained by the music of Jean Carn and a Tribute to Phyllis Hyman before and after they went on to soar with their solo careers and garner big hits like "You Know How To Love Me" and “Don’t Let It Go To Your Head”.
