Winnipeg Comedy Showcase
This is the deal: You have seen these hard working comedians all over town and tonight is the night to see them all at The Park Theatre, performing their best material. This is no open mic, there are no amateurs here. Only the best. Hosted By Jared Story
Originally from Grandview, MB, Jared has been seriously pursuing stand-up comedy since 2009. In 2011, Jared finished in the finals of “Winnipeg’s Funniest Person with a Day Job contest.” In 2013, Jared was one of 10 Winnipeg comedians to audition for Just For Laughs scouts at Rumor's Comedy Club, as well as being one of 12 Winnipeg comedians chosen to audition for SiriusXM’s Canada’s Next Top Comic contest. Jared is a regular guest performer at Rumor’s Comedy Club and is the author of Grumpy Young Man at spectatortribune.com
Winnipeg comedian currently holed up in the mountains writing his magnum opus, as well as his bio.
Dana Smith is a performer who wears many hats; writer, sketch artist, stand up comic, and actor.
Dana co-created and performed in the 2013 fringe play "Comedy Plus Time Equals Tragedy" and co-created "Lady Skits" in the 2012 Fringe.
As a cast member in "The Week Thus Far", Dana is a proficient writer in news satire, sketch, and Stand up.
Kate Schellenberg is originally from the East Coast. She got tired of the mild winters, pleasant people and being near the ocean so she packed her bags and headed to Manitoba. Kate has most recently performed at the Winnipeg Comedy Fest and the Rumors Roast Battle and got her start at the Women’s Open Mic in Winnipeg. It’s Kate’s first time performing at Oddbock and she is thrilled for the opportunity.
Tyler is a high school graduate (2011) and moderately handsome guy (2013-present). He can’t wait to make you laugh with his mix of absurd one liners, half-baked characters and sharp observations (2018). His favourite film is Blade Runner (2049). He wants you to know his jokes will be better than his write-up.
Tyler Penner has been writing and performing comedy in Winnipeg for just over six years. In that time, he’s gone from trying out material at local open mics to headlining sold-out comedy showcases at the Park Theatre. In 2014, Tyler won the title of Winnipeg’s Funniest Person With a Day Job at Rumor’s Comedy Club, where he now enjoys doing guest spots. In 2015, he was selected to perform in Rumors’ Just For Laughs’ Comic Showcase.
