The Morning Sea
THE MORNING SEA describes its sound as Gotham Americana - a combination of folk, rock and blues with stylized New York City grit.
The band formed in 2013 by staple underground musicians from the iconic Lower East Side and the effervescent cultural melting pot of Brooklyn. Their vivacious live shows capture the hearts of fans from all walks of life and musical leanings. Infectious melodies and danceable beats creep into your brain as you wake up in the morning from a night of revelry; frontman Adam Cohen’s poignant and piercingly relatable lyrics follow you out your front door as you embark on your morning commute - an authentic soundtrack to the city that never sleeps.
Their latest record, "Half Keys", will be out in 2018.
IT SURE WAS GOOD is the new EP from SEAN KIELY, due for release on Friday May 11th on Multiple Logo Records, with an EP Release Show at Rockwood Music Hall, New York Thursday, May 10th, 9pm.
Sean Kiely’s eagerly anticipated It Sure Was Good EP comes on the heels of 2015’s Your Logo, My Logo and 2017's Willow, Texas split 7" with Jeff Taylor. The songs were inspired by the personal experience of confronting loss with a partner, coinciding with a theme of an imagined experience of the early 16th century settlers of North America in the failed Roanoke Colony.
The EP was recorded and mixed by John Agnello (Kurt Vile, Sonic Youth) at the now shuttered Water Music in Hoboken, NJ. It was produced, arranged and performed by Sean Kiely, Dave Heilman (Sondre Lerche, Regina Spektor, Fancy Colors), and Bobby McCullough, with additional musical contributions from Jonny Lam (Sinkane, Atomic Bomb Band) & Zac Colwell (Big Data, CHAPPO, Fancy Colors).
Sean Kiely is a singer-songwriter and guitarist, living & writing in Jersey City since 2008. After releasing his first full-length Arch Envy in 2012, Sean turned his focus toward the acoustic guitar, and began crafting the intricate instrumental parts and evocative lyrics that characterize the songs on his last full-length album, the highly praised, Your Logo, My Logo.
