Mike Lewis is the Founder and CEO of When to Jump, a global community featuring the individuals, stories, and ideas relating to leaving something comfortable in order to pursue a passion. Launched in 2016, the platform has attracted millions of impressions through digital and print media, in-person experiences, and brand collaborations. In January 2018, Mike’s book, When to Jump: If the Job You Have Isn’t the Life You Want (Henry Holt Macmillan) will release worldwide. Goldman Sachs named Mike one of the 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs of 2017. Mike graduated magna cum laude from Dartmouth College, and developed When to Jump from his experience leaving his job as an investor at Bain Capital Ventures to chase a dream of competing on the professional squash tour—an adventure across 200,000 miles, six continents and nearly fifty countries.
Representative Brendan Boyle
Brendan F. Boyle was born and raised in the Olney neighborhood of Pennsylvania’s 13th Congressional District. As the son of a janitor and school crossing guard, Congressman Boyle was the first in his family to attend college. He went to the University of Notre Dame on an academic scholarship, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Government and completed the Hesburgh Program in Public Service. Congressman Boyle later attended graduate school at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government. He graduated from Harvard in 2005, earning a master's degree in Public Policy.
Elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 2008, Brendan was the first Democrat to represent Pennsylvania's 170th state legislative district, which includes parts of Montgomery County and Philadelphia. In 2010, he was joined in the state legislature by his brother, Representative Kevin J. Boyle, making them the first brothers to serve together in the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives.
In 2014, he was elected to Congress by the citizens of the 13th Congressional District, representing Northeast Philadelphia, part of North Philadelphia, and approximately half of Montgomery County, PA. Since first entering public service, Congressman Boyle has served as a champion for working and middle class families, in particular issues relating to social and economic justice.
Deesha Dyer is a speaker, writer, Creative Event and Strategy consultant, and most notably known as the former Obama Administration Social Secretary. The Philadelphia native became a White House intern at the age of 30 and completed a seven-year tenure there that honed her expertise in event coordination, logistics, protocol, and statecraft. Her storied career is unconventional at best, with themes of reinvention, drive, and a commitment to community service integrated throughout.
An award-winning event producer, Deesha has been featured in national media outlets including TIME, The New York Times, Marie Claire, Essence, Vogue, Refinery29, Forbes, Glamour, The Root and Washington Post. She currently serves as the Executive Director of beGirl.world, a global empowerment and education travel program for teen girls that she co-founded in 2014. A charismatic speaker with unbridled optimism, she now shares her message of hope, hard work and living life on your own terms with audiences across the country, while running her private consulting firm.
