For his 11th solo album, MIXTAPE, Erelli unleashes covers of songs by Don Henley, Arcade Fire, Richard Thompson, Neko Case, and more, drawn from the wealth of material Erelli has tackled over the course of his 14 year-long annual stand of sold out covers shows at Club Passim in Cambridge MA.
In the last five years, Mark Erelli has produced two records for GRAMMY-winning country songwriter Lori McKenna, played regular stints in McKenna’s band and is a regular sideman for Paula Cole and Josh Ritter.
Raised in the southwest corner of Missouri as a child of a nurse and a metal maker, Luke was warmed by the voices of Bruce Springsteen, Jim Croce, and The Doors.. The passing of the seasons brought on influences from The Counting Crows to Tom Waits. Luke’s love for music matured over time from fan to writer to performer.
With a batch full of poems turned into songs, Luke recorded his first of three albums in less than 18 months, It Won’t Last Forever, A Fading Frontier, and Love, Laura and The Bomb. In 2012 Luke harnessed his landscape storytelling in his fourth album, Winter Kissing on the Spring ...
In the Spring of 2015, Luke released his 5th album, For You, I Built a Mountain, with one of his most influential inspirations, Joshua James, as producer.
Luke is currently working on several creative projects to include an indie film based on his album, For You, I Built a Mountain, his first collection of short stories, and his next full length album, A Heart Full of Wolves (TBA).
