For this season’s final installment of BRIC House Sessions, The Knights explore the wide influence of Eastern European folk music, from traditional tunes set by Romani folk musicians to modernity. The program, entitled Hungarian Rock, includes new arrangements of Brahm’s famous Hungarian Dances, with a world premiere arrangement of Ligeti’s Hungarian Rock by The Knights horn player, Michael P. Atkinson.
An opening set by Black Sea Hotel “takes some of the most compelling elements of Balkan folk music and strips them down to their barest form.
