Washington D.C.’s Wylder fuses indie-rock and chamber-folk into dynamic melodies and heavily textured instrumentals that evoke a diverse set of comparisons from Arcade Fire and Weezer all the way to Fleet Foxes.
Formed by singer/guitarist Will McCarry in 2012, the group grew into its current iteration in 2016 and features Lonnie Southall (guitar/mandolin), Mike Pingley (drums), and Jackson Wright (bass/piano). Wylder’s debut album, Rain and Laura, was released in April of 2016, and was met with enthusiastic reviews from fans and critics alike. They are currently in the midst of recording their next full length album and will be featured on the Rock Boat in early 2018 alongside Need to Breath, Barenaked Ladies and Sister Hazel among others.
Virginia Man is a 5 piece indie rock group of recent college grads from Fredericksburg VA. Since the August 2016 release of their first single, "Paper Shields", Virginia Man has seen incredible growth and success. Their single charted on Spotify's US Viral 50 playlist and has accumulated nearly half a million plays since. Soon after, Virginia Man released their debut EP "Let Us Be" and gained quite the following at universities all around VA and out of state in cities they've played in including as DC, NYC, and Charlotte. They are known for their timeless indie pop songs that deeply resonate with their fans as well as for their magnetic personalities that shine on stage through their organic charismatic performances. Their aim of unapologetically displaying their selves to their fans and so connecting with them is achieved through every single performance and through every single stream.
