Students of Mick Berry, ages 5 -21, accompanied by Bay Area virtuosos who have played with Bonnie Raitt, Huey Lewis and the News, Van Morrison, Jaco Pastorius, and Booker T. Jones.
These kids can play! Styles include Jazz, Rock, Funk, New Orleans, African, Brazilian, and Afro-Cuban.
Sited by the San Francisco Chronicle as a "Local Phenom", Mick himself has worked with Paul Jackson Jr. (bass player Herbie Hancock), Franks Simes (musical director for The Who), Michael Wolff, E.C. Scott, Craig Handy, Eddie Henderson, and The San Francisco Mime Troupe.
In addition, he is the co-author of The Drummer’s Bible/ How to Play Every Drum Style from Afro-Cuban to Zydeco (over 21,000 copies sold).
Some of Mick's students have studied with him for as long as 10 years. His recitals take place twice a year, with a growing and enthusiastic fanbase that always marvels at the glory of their youth and adept ability.
