Late for the Train, Solström, Oddjob Ensemble

Late for the Train

Late for the Train is the folk duo of David Pascoe and Laura Benson, two songwriters and multi-instrumentalists sharing traditional and original music. The pair will carry you on a journey through joyful fiddle tunes and bluegrass riffs to melancholic folk songs, true to the tradition of narrative songwriting and storytelling. After recently launching Every Folk, a music & folk skills camp in California, the duo will meet Oddjob Ensemble in Taos to join them for the final leg of their national tour.

Solström

Solström (aka Michael Sallstrom) has been bringing his unique and insightful musical perspective to Santa Barbara for the last eight years. At the core of his sound are melodic guitar and piercing lyrics, with a rotating band that includes bass, drums, and violin. His recently released EP Strangers Like Us explores themes of love and human nature.

Hailing from Sonoma County, Oddjob Ensemble performs a myriad of musical styles, collaborating with performance artists in Vaudevillian shows, musical theater, and the avant garde. The Ensemble, led by Kalei Yamanoha, is a trio comprised of trap kit, stand-up bass, and accordion. With energetic early jazz numbers and raucous overtures, Oddjob Ensemble will twist the crowd’s ears into a delicious musical pretzel that is sure to leave even the keenest listener intrigued. Santa Barbara will the 35th stop on their Silver Sea National Tour to support their recently released album, The Silver Sea.
