Vintage Vinyl Comes Alive!
VINTAGE VINYL COMES ALIVE! TM OPENS WITH RARE PERFORMANCE OF PINK FLOYD’s DARK SIDE OF THE MOON & CLOSES WITH FLEETWOOD MAC’s RUMOURS ACCOMPANIED BY MIND-BLOWING VISUALS & HISTORIC VISUALS
Los Angeles, CA, 11/08/17 - a Las Vegas-bound rare LIVE performance of Pink Floyd’s iconic,
The Dark Side Of The Moon will be played in it’s entirety - Side One & Side Two - and set to mesmerizing, period-inspired visuals one night only at the vintage Majestic Theatre (aka Ventura Concert Theatre) in Ventura, CA, Friday, November 24 at 7pm. The show will be narrated by legendary disc jockey Jim Ladd - on- air for nearly 50 years, and written by well-known industry cognoscenti and rock n’roll aficionado, Lonn Friend.
Concert will be a red carpet event and admit patrons for the substantially-reduced ticket price of $15 to benefit the Humane Society of Ventura County - the local animal shelter and a whole lot more. As a private nonprofit, the HSVC has served all of Ventura County for over 85 years without government or other national support and staffs the only two Humane Officers in Ventura County investigating animal abuse, neglect and cruelty. They respond to 300+ calls a year, covering an area of over 2200 square miles rescuing animals in need - a most worthy cause.
The highly-skilled pedigreed musicians performing have been hand-selected from around the world under the direction of Toronto-based Rob Robbins and a team of audio designers are tending to the arduous detail required to re-create the experience of listening to the album - in a LIVE setting. Sound will be married to rockumentary-style footage with custom lighting and effects meant to express the feeling, cultural sensibility and historical events at the time.
Show debuts the exciting vision behind Vintage Vinyl Comes Alive! TM - brainchild of Rob Robbins and Scot Gaines, veteran musicians and production experts well versed in the challenges of concert performance who are pulling out all the stops to make this an intimate and unforgettable experience. Opening as a soft residency at the Plaza Hotel & Casino in downtown Las Vegas as part of the renaissance of Vintage Vegas, Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of the Moon will open January 5th, 2018 and play for 30 days before going out on the road to tour performing arts theaters and other venues around the country. Each month, Vintage Vinyl Comes Alive!TM at the Plaza will premiere a new vintage record. The idea was borne out of the desire to bring multiple generations of fans together to witness some of the biggest platinum-selling, globally- recognized & revered albums of all time and duplicate the novel experience of listening to ol' skool vinyl records played LIVE by expert pros and create an all-out party! The show is also designed to give those who were not alive at the time a sense of what was happening both at home and abroad.
As a bonus, the February show, officially debuting at the Plaza Hotel - one of the only remaining vintage theaters in all of Las Vegas, will be unveiled the very next night (11/25) at the Majestic (Ventura's Concert Theatre) featuring the same musicians playing, note-for-note, the outstanding performance of Fleetwood Mac's original 1977 break-through album - Rumours accompanied by new visuals and sound design.
Do not miss this incredible opportunity. Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon, November 24 and
