Malamanya is a United States based band comprised of musicians who share a mutual respect and enthusiasm for traditional rhythms and melodies from Cuba and Latin America.

Their style is vintage and their sound is classic. Their onstage energy and compositions reflect the communal, complex, and celebratory spirit prevalent in these musical genres.

Malamanya released a new full length album in August 2016.

During Congolese guitarman Siama's formative years in Africa he helped to popularize the soukous genre by recording hundreds of radio hits and performing with many of the most popular soukous artists. Since launching his US solo career in 2014, he's received a McKnight Fellowship and several grants, he's been enlisted as a COMPAS Teaching Artist and he's been featured on MPR, The Current, Star Tribune and many other outlets. Siama recently released his critically-acclaimed new album ("Rivers") with an genre-spanning show at The Cedar. In addition to performing at festivals and special events he teaches guitar and hosts interactive programs, workshops and instrument petting zoos all over Minnesota.
