Emily Cavanagh is a Singer/Songwriter in New York City, originally from Chicago. Emily is an independent artist, ready to release 3 new EP's this fall. Her EP “Paper Moon” written entirely in Ireland & produced by grammy nominated, Leo Sidran, will celebrate its US debut at Rockwood Music Hall on December 1st. Emily is a regular performer in NYC & outside of New York, plays in Chicago, Nashville, LA, and in Ireland, touring with multi-platinum singer-songwriters, Dublin’s Paddy Casey and Mundy. In addition to working as a performer, this year, the instrumental of Emily's song "Treehouse" was featured in the trailer for Woody Harrleson's film, “Wilson."
Her music has been featured in publications and blogs like Garance Dore, American Songwriter, The Guardian, USA Today, The Regional, and in podcasts here and abroad. In addition to music, Emily has developed creative arts programs in shelters for homeless young adults. She works both as a musician and a freelancer for arts-non-profits like “Artists Striving to End Poverty,” bringing music to kids living in poverty in South Africa, India, and the DR. She has performed numerous times at the United Nations where her original song has played in honor of Genocide Survivors.
This Rockwood performance is the last chance to catch her in NYC before she heads out on the road:)
