Award winning singer, songwriter and record producer. Winner of this year’s Polaris prize for best Canadian album with Buffy Sainte Marie.
Writes and performs original Old-Time Country and Jazz songs that blend idiosyncratic lyrics with an unexpected sonic pallet, from Yodelling to Over-tone.
Toronto singer-songwriter Glen Hornblast is a popular performer in many of Toronto's folk and jazz clubs. In 2013, he released his first CD entitled, "Once In A Blue Moon." The twelve-track CD received a lot of airplay on folk internet radio stations from Canada to Australia, and garnered rave reviews. No Depression said at the time, “Eventually, Glen will deserve to take his place among the best tunesmiths and lyricists of Canada. This album is a fine example of why.” Currently, Glen is working on a new CD of his latest tunes to be entitled after one of his songs, “8th Avenue”. Glen will also be in a new documentary in 2018 called “More Than Words” about dreamers and songwriters who make their way to Nashville to make it big. The new CD should be released sometime in the Spring of 2018!
Jessica Speziale is a Pop/Rock Powerhouse with the spirit of Tina Turner and the soul of Alicia Keys.
Speziale blends rock with soul, roots and 90s alternative for a fresh, high-power sound that is capturing the imaginations of music fans across Canada, in the US, and abroad.
Heavy on vocal harmonies, raw emotion, and love for crunchy guitars and wailing horns, Speziale names influences ranging from Alanis Morissette, to Hanson, silverchair, and Sharon Jones.
Speziale's latest release, Shine (MC2 Music Media, 2014), is a showcase of her varied influences taking listeners from intimate and powerful stories of physical abuse told through the string-laden rock ballad, Eyes Closed, to the the brighter side of human interaction depicted in the fun, bouncy, and trumpet-infused title track, Shine.
Shine has received airplay on college/University radio across Canada, on CBC Radio including Metro Morning for songs 'Everything' and 'Stay', and her music video for title track, 'Shine', has been aired on VMIX on OMNI.2 Television.
She's put over 20,000 km on her touring schedule in 2016 including a cross-Canada tour on the Via Rail train, sold out performances in both Toronto, Ontario and Prince George, British Columbia, and a Southern Ontario tour with artist Brooklyn Doran. Jessica has played several showcases at festivals including Canadian Music Week, the Newmarket Jazz Festival, Indie Week and NXNE.
