Mud Spree for Angel Tree Featuring Upchurch The Redneck

Upchurch The Redneck

Ryan Upchurch, or as most folks know him Upchurch the Redneck, is a man who wears many hats. He is a comedian, a musician, an actor, and an activist against bullying. Any one of those would be more than enough for most people. But for Upchurch, it’s only the beginning.
His rise to fame began with his eponymous YouTube channel, which he started in 2014. Within four months it had over a hundred thousand subscribers, and now his social media following totals over three million. It was here that his signature brand of creativity came to the forefront, mixing his southern roots with fun times and a sharp wit. It was here that his trademark phrase of “Raise hell and Eat Cornbread” was coined, as he put out his first single.
The success of that phrase spawned a clothing line, and started the RHEC craze. Seeing how popular the line had become, Redneck Nation quickly sponsored the production. The brand continues to grow with each passing month, becoming a staple for his fans.
In May of 2015 he released a hick-hop EP, Cheatham County, named for the place of his birth. It quickly climbed to within the top 30 on both the Country and Rap charts. Building on this success, he began working on his follow up full length album.

This same year, while most people would have devoted every moment to basking in this achievement, Upchurch instead began spending time as an ambassador for R.I.S.E. and Stand. This group works to help stop bullying, and to counsel those who have been bullied.
2016 brought success after success. His first full length, Heart of America, charted just as well as his initial EP, selling over 1,300 copies in its first week. Later that same year he released his second full album, Chicken Willie, which shot up to number 11 on the rap charts, and sold over 2,800 albums its first week. On top of that, he starred in the pilot for a comedy sitcom, just further showing his versatility.
Upchurch has virtually become an overnight success, but manages it with a humility and good-natured spirit that is a welcome change from the so often ego driven music industry. He masterfully adapts to the ever changing industry, be it sharing the stage with some of the world’s biggest entertainers one day, or creating comedic content for his social media followers the next. He goes from strength to strength, grinning all the while. For this simple man from rural Tennessee, nothing makes him happier than sharing his talents with the world, and trying to do some good along the way.
Just remember to Raise Hell and Eat Cornbread.
