Daniel Pujol is an artist currently living in Nashville, TN. Daniel's eponymous musical project, Pujol, is not strictly a garage rock act, despite what you might have read in any profiles, interviews and other published descriptions regarding his prior output. Said back catalog includes numerous singles, EPs and LPs on labels including Third Man Records, Infinity Cat Recordings, and Saddle Creek Records.
In addition to music, Daniel writes prose and poetry. He has been published by The Nashville Cream, Third Man Books, Sobotka Literary Magazine, The Walrus, etc.
The newest Pujol release is a blend of writing and music. It is called KISSES.
Daniel A.K.A Puj recorded Pujol's KISSES EP in his basement alongside his bassist, Zach Prosser, and engineering comrade, Ian McDonald. Drew Vandenberg (Deerhunter, Toro Y Moi, Of Montreal) mixed it with him in Athens, GA at Chase Park Transduction Studios. The idea for an EP was hatched by Puj following a stretch of lengthy and arduous touring during the KLUDGE 2014-2015 campaign when he realized that the poetry and rock & roll demos he was working on independently fit together.
KISSES is eight tracks: three poems and five rock & roll songs. The EP is the second in a series of limited releases from Puj's Bartertown Co-Op. So keep the dial set to PUJOLDOTCOM.com for all Pujol related news, and remember:
"You can't save the world, but you can heal it-if your kisses blow one at a time."
“Landing somewhere between My Bloody Valentine's poppiest moments, Wavves least
bratty missives, the result is something like if Nirvana had had a surf rock phase." –
“Brooklyn via LA Pink Mexico plays a gritty brand of fuzz rock, but their airy melodies
with psychedelic inflections counteract the harshness of their distorted sound.” – The
“…the kind of fuzzy, driving garage punk that you can always trust Burger to put out.”

After playing drums for countless other bands, including Shilpa Ray and WALTZ, Robert
Preston went for a change and began his solo project, Pink Mexico. After moving from
Brooklyn to Los Angeles, Preston self-released the first Pink Mexico LP, pnik mxeico, in
June of 2013, attracting the attention of Austin-based record label Fleeting Youth
Records, who then re-released pnik mxeico the following December.
Preston relocated to Brooklyn in the fall of 2014 to begin recording his next album while
continuing other releases: a split 7" with Los Angeles-based band, SunLikeDrugs as
well as a 12” vinyl pressing of pnik mxeico by Bordeaux, France based label Big Tomato
Records. The underground buzz surrounding the first LP led Preston into the Burger
Records family. Following countless Brooklyn shows and making the rounds at this
year’s SXSW, Pink Mexico has grown as a band comprised of Grady Walker & Ian
Bad Boys/Sad Boys. Roaring guitar, noise, distorted crunchy synthesizers, dark lyrics and killer vocals. Songs about loving, losing, hating, coming, and crying by a Rock and roll band recruiting teenage boys.
