Eliza Skinner is originally from Richmond, VA and started her performing career as an unnamed child revolutionary in a production of Evita. She is now a stand-up comedian and has appeared on The Pete Holmes Show, @Midnight, Chelsea Lately, Upload with Shaquille O’Neal, MTV, Showtime, AMC and the BBC. She has performed in festivals all over the world including RiotLA, SXSW, Bridgetown, the NY Comedy Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe. In his Reddit AMA, Patton Oswalt called her one of his favorite up-and-coming comedians. Eliza was a writer and correspondent on Totally Biased (produced by Chris Rock), Fashion Police (with Joan Rivers), Adam Ruins Everything (truTV) and she is currently a staff writer for The Late Late Show with James Corden. In 2014 she was selected to be one of the “New Faces Of Comedy”
Originally from Montana, Chris headlines comedy venues nationally. His fast paced, quirky and constantly improvised act has been showcased on Comedy Central, Conan, Last Comic Standing, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Vh1 and TruTV. Chris will also be seen the 2016 film “Still Punching the Clown’, recently appeared on @midnight w/ Chris Hardwick, and performing on Seeso (NBC’s new comedy streaming platform) and opening for Daniel Tosh.
Chris’ first comedy album, “Fairbanks!” was named one of Amazon and Amazon MP3’s Top Ten of
2010. He also hosts the popular podcast, “Do You Need a Ride”, with Karen Kilgariff on All Things Comedy. They shuttle their guests to or from the airport, somewhat dangerously, in a ’08 Honda Accord mobile sound studio.
Chris is also self-employed as a freelance artist, illustrating
for magazines, skateboards, and educational textbooks.
He enjoys skateboarding and golf, but requires a hip surgery. It’s the newest coolest thing, yeah, you probably haven’t heard of it.
Gabe Dinger started doing stand up comedy in 2005. He won the Portland Amateur Comedy Contest in 2006 showcasing his razor-sharp wit and unmatched timing, and in 2007 won the CBS Radio Laff Off. Gabe’s material is fun and smart in a way that is accessible to a wide audience. Gabe can boast being the first comedian in Oregon State history to perform at Oregon State Maximum Security Prison in Salem Oregon. Gabe is a main-stage cast member and instructor at Curious Comedy Theater. Gabe’s experience includes improv and sketch comedy making his stage performances exciting, dynamic, unpredictable, and always funny.
Kate Schellenberg is originally from the East Coast. She got tired of the mild winters, pleasant people and being near the ocean so she packed her bags and headed to Manitoba. Kate has most recently performed at the Winnipeg Comedy Fest and the Rumors Roast Battle and got her start at the Women’s Open Mic in Winnipeg. It’s Kate’s first time performing at Oddbock and she is thrilled for the opportunity.
Angie St. Mars
Angie St. Mars is a Winnipeg-based comedian and sketch comic who has been accused of “lighting it all on fire!” with her tongue-in-cheek feminist-fueled wit and pocket blow torch. She has been featured in the Winnipeg Comedy Showcase, Empow(HER)ment Showcase and the Winnipeg Comedy Festival. She writes and performs with local sketch comedy troupe President Bear (Winnipeg Comedy Showcase, Winnipeg Fringe Festival) She is a huge fan of ODDBLOCK and could not be more excited to be a part of it.
Kyle Bergstresser’s accessibly weird/high energy comedy style has earned him countless spots as an “Audience Favourite” at local open mics and shows, without sacrificing a level of intelligence or an overall narrative.
Kyle was the host of his own alt character/improv show at The Sentient Bookstore in Winnipeg, has been featured on two Winnipeg Comedy Showcases, at Rumors Comedy Club and Upper Deck Comedy in Toronto to name a few.
A true acquired taste as both a comedian and a person, Kyle has been described as “really funny except for that one joke” by groups of loud, drunk guys accross the country.
Come see Kyle and give him a chance to prove you don’t want to beat him up as much as you think you do.
John B Duff
John B Duff is a Winnipeg stand-up comic and the 2005 winner of Winnipeg’s Funniest Person with a Day Job competition. He placed in the top 10 of CTV’s Nationwide Corner Gas Comic Genius competition and was a local finalist in the Just for Laughs National Homegrown Comic Competition 2007. When not crowing about competing in competitions, John enjoys giving the slip to Cancer and performing at festivals and clubs around North America.
