Lu Yim

Lu Yim is a choreographer, performer and visual artist based in Portland, OR. Yim works collaboratively to bring language and dance towards a poetic form of kinship. Yim’s work has travelled to PICA’s TBA Festival, Northwest New Works at On the Boards, Festival Internacional de Danza Contemporánea Michoácan and has been co produced in theaters, lofts, galleries and bars across the US. Yim is a founding member of Physical Education, a reading and curatorial group based in Portland, OR and the US.

cell foam threshhole is a solo performance made for artist run spaces and alternative venues. Formed around the idea that the body is holographic, the performer shows up as text as voice as dance as image and as meme. The work develops out of Yim’s interests in somatic research, queer intersectionalities and science fiction. cell foam threshhole composes live in a paradoxical state of autonomously generated pleasure of which remains surveilled, creating the grounds for a body to figure out how to work with the shadows away from clear site.

Takahiro Yamamoto

Originally from Shizuoka, Japan, Takahiro Yamamoto is an artist based in Portland, working in live performance, sculpture, and photography. Both of his performance productions and visual art works have been presented at GoDown Arts Centre (Nairobi), Bedlam Lowertown (St. Paul), Fresh Festival (San Francisco), Center on Contemporary Arts (Seattle), Rowan Gallery (Los Angeles), and Disjecta (Portland). He has performed for Morgan Thorson, Xavier Le Roy, Opiyo Okach, Mårten Spångberg, Keith Hennessy, Jmy James Kidd, Perseverance Theatre Company and others. He holds MFA in Visual Studies at Pacific Northwest College of Art.
