Marley Young

Marley Young (born Ray Goldie Patrick; August 6, 1987) is an American recording artist & songwriter. He grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, in a notoriously crime filled area known as "the 50's". Marley has managed to surpass the expectations those raised in that area see as the norm.

He started writing lyrics when he was eleven years old after learning from his older brother and started persuing a carreer in music at the age of fifteen; when he was signed by a local record label called 3rd Wall Entertainment. During this period he met RawBeatZz, 3rd Wall's in-house producer at the time. Marley has considered RawBeatZz a great influence and mentor throughout his career. Marley's talent caught the attention of Sean Paul of the legendary Atlanta duo YoungBloodZ. This led to multiple features and collaborations with each half of YoungBloodZ.

Over the course of his independent career, Marley has released eight mix-tapes and one studio album. He has collaborated and written songs with both underground and mainstream heavy-hitters such as Gucci Mane, YoungBloodZ, RawBeatZz, Keak Da Sneak, Yukmouth, Rich the Factor, Boy Big, JL of B.Hood and Louisiana Cash.

HITM Music recently released the 14 track mixtape "King Yurk" (released January of 2017). Yurk is an acronym Marley created which stands for Young Underrated King. This acronym is derived from his most known ad-lib "Yurkel". Yurkel is a compound word made from Young Urkel.

Marley is currently recording his first EP "Summer of '97" with multi platinum producer Kojack Charles in Houston Texas.
