Palm Trees & Power Lines
Florida-based rock band Palm Trees & Power Lines fuses high-energy pop and punk, like the perfectly off-balanced offspring of Fall Out Boy and 5 Seconds of Summer. The band (a.k.a. PTPL) started playing together in 2012 and features Florida natives Josh Cravey (vocals/guitar), Shafer Tasso (vocals/guitar), and Kyle Bailey (bass).
Palm Trees & Power Lines released their first EP, High Hopes, in November 2013. Well received, the band gained local notoriety before fans thrust them into the national spotlight by voting them to play the 2014 Vans Warped Tour show in Orlando. This caught the attention of rock station X102.9, who further promoted the band in a series of on-air interviews, along with Internet radio’s Fearless Radio, Pup Fresh and The Quinn Spin.
Then, in May 2015, PTPL repeated their fan-driven success when High Hopes’ ‘Listen’ was chosen as the Song of the Year for the PGA Tour’s THE PLAYERS Championship, with the music and video serving as the foundation for the tournament’s national advertising campaign. Their second album, Animalistic, was released later that month.
PTPL followed up with more high-profile appearances, opening up for acts like Panic! at the Disco, AWOLNation, and 311. The band was again voted onto the 2015 Vans Warped Tour, this time onto the Jacksonville date. PTPL has been featured on NBC, ABC and CBS affiliates, numerous print media, and even music industry titans Ernie Ball and Blackstar Amplification have talked about the rise of PTPL on their own social media channels.

Now, we as a band are trying to achieve our shared dream, touring and sharing our music all over the world! Impossible? We don’t think so. We do what we love and plan to make careers out of it, because we really don’t know what else we’re going to do… But anyways, we have a lot of fun together as a band, writing songs and playing them and we hope you enjoy it!
It is a strange thing to be veterans of a music scene at such an early stage in a band's career, but that is the position in which BRIGHTSIDE find themselves. In addition to performing throughout the southeast with We The Kings, Senses Fail, Alien Ant Farm, and Socialburn, the band also played the 2015 Vans Warped Tour (Jacksonville) and the 2015 Florida Music Festival (Orlando) and has grown into a Tallahassee headliner consistently drawing 350-400 people at every show. Most recently, the band joined We The Kings and Cute Is What We Aim For during the Florida leg (five dates) of the WTK 10 tour in late March and early April of 2017.
In December of 2014 the band released their debut EP, “Feels Like Fiction,” produced by Lee Dyess at Earthsound Recordings (Mayday Parade, From First to Last, Go Radio). Their second EP, "Heart Science," was released on February 5th, 2017, supported by two singles, "AEIOU" and "Lights a Spark." Both tracks have been receiving consistent drive time spins on Hot 104.9 (WHTF-FM Tallahassee). The EP was recorded, produced, and mixed by Zack and Kenneth of ZK Productions in Atlanta (Mayday Parade, Cartel, All Time Low) and James Paul Wisner in Orlando (Dashboard Confessional, Paramore, Further Seems Forever, Underoath).
