Children Of Bodom
Melodic Death Metal (Extreme Metal) band from Espoo, Finland. Formed in 1993 as "IneartheD" by Alexi Laiho and Jaska Raatikainen. Different sources tend to categorize them stylistically in different ways, but according to the lead singer and guitarist Alexi Laiho "it's just metal and that's it."
In 1997, the band, still name "IneartheD", signed up with a small Belgian label to release their first album "Something Wild". But before its release, the band was contacted by Spinefarm Records. Since they were already signed to another label, they had to fake a split-up and change the name to be able to release the album through Spinefarm. They chose Children of Bodom as the new name, inspired by the unsolved Lake Bodom murders, which took place in Finland in 1960 (teenagers camping next to the Lake Bodom were slaughtered by a maniac).

Uncured is a progressive metal band based in NYC that is attracting international attention for its combination of technical musicianship, brutal riffs and beautiful, melodic interludes. Uncured released its debut EP Spontaneous Generation on October 13, 2016. Top metal and rock outlets have praised the EP, likening Uncured to prog titans Opeth, Dream Theater, and "Rush on 'roids."
Uncured was founded in 2014 by brothers Rex Cox and Zak Cox. The Cox brothers wrote all of the music on Spontaneous Generation, and played guitar and bass on the EP. They were joined on drums by special guest Max Portnoy (son of drumming legend Mike Portnoy).
In a recent review of Spontaneous Generation, BraveWords wrote that "the song writing on every track is delivered like an intriguing book that you just can't put down, delving into a massive range of emotions and feelings." Meanwhile, Rockwired Magazine identifies Uncured as "more than just another young rock band on the scene." Rockwired explains that "the band's debut EP Spontaneous Generation serves up the sort of revelry and musicality that is likely to make Uncured a force to be reckoned with for years to come." Fans agree with the critics, and Uncured's wide selection of videos and teasers have received more than 400,000 views on FaceBook and YouTube.
Uncured is currently in the studio recording its first full-length LP Medusa, which will be released on March 10, 2017. The new record features vocals from Zak and Rex.
Joining Uncured on drums is new full-time member Liam Manley, from Portland, Oregon. Liam has over 13 years experience playing drums, including five years of professional session work with various artists across the U.S. Jon Kita from Boston, Massachusetts, who also plays with metal stalwarts Diecast and City of Homes, rounds out the Uncured line-up on bass.
Uncured is signed to Conclave Studios in NYC and has plans to tour in the U.S. and internationally throughout 2017, including opening for Katatonia on its North American tour in March and April of 2017.
