Green Velvet, initially created by house don Cajmere (AKA Curtis Alan Jones) as an outlet for his non-vocal productions and frequent DJing gigs, grew to become even more popular than the man himself, thanks to club singles like "Preacher Man," "Answering Machine" and "The Stalker." Jones, who had nurtured the Chicago house renaissance of the 1990's with his Cajual Records, gained success in 1993 with the Cajmere single "Brighter Days" (with vocals performed by Dajaé). Later that year, he formed the sub-label Relief Records mostly for instrumental tracks by himself and others. Besides releases from DJ Sneak, Gemini and Paul Johnson, Green Velvet figured on many of the early Relief singles, including its first, "Preacher Man" as well as "Flash" (also released on the British label Open), "The Stalker" and 1997's "Answering Machine." Jones began to supplement his Green Velvet DJing schedule with quasi-live gigs as well, and released his first LP in 1999. His self-titled release on F-111 one year later compiled a dozen of his earlier club hits, and the proper sophomore production album "Whatever" appeared in 2001 on his own Relief label.
Profound music head brought up in the disarray of the modern day electronic music scene. Bakke aka Luis Baquero is an aspiring artist based out of Miami, FL. Armed with his record bag & a relentless drive for futuristic soundscapes, this young talent plans on conquering the world's best dancefloors, one finely odd track at a time. Filipino born and Miami raised, Rachel Tumada a.k.a. 'Ms. Mada', is an upcoming DJ & aspiring producer based in Miami Beach. As the youngest addition of the powerhouse promotion group, LinkMiamiRebels, she has become a staple in the Miami scene with her residencies at Miami's institutions of electronic music, TRADE Nightclub & Club Space.
Since 2010, Rachel completed gigs throughout Miami, holding residencies at renowned venues such as Club Space, Electric Pickle, Treehouse, Trade and Story, and performing as a special guest at festivals across the Americas such as Ultra Music Festival, BPM, III Points, Time Warp US, & BAUM festival. Since her recruitment by the head of LMR in September 2011, Rachel has become one of the group’s star players, opening up for some of the biggest names in today's underground electronic music world.
