Teen Girl Scientist Monthly
Teen Girl Scientist Monthly is a 6-piece rock group from Brooklyn. They sound like Ra Ra Riot and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah making out in the bathroom.
"Robb Torres, front-man of Robbery Inc, has always been about testing his diverse limits. The accomplished guitarist, and former member of the alt-rock band TRAPT, draws from his varied sonic roots while continually evolving as he moves to the front of the stage. Torres was ready for something that would test his limits not only as a songwriter and guitarist, but also a lyricist and singer.
Enter: Robbery Inc.
Torres shows his prowess by blending his raw vocals and poignant lyrics with his massive rock guitar sound and masterful solos. Jonah Wei-Haas expands the sound playing both bass and keys, moving in and out of the foreground masterfully, while Matt Camgros lays down a relentless rock groove on the drums with polished fills and solos. Together, the trio delivers a certain layered, head-nodding flavor of blues-infused rock that sticks in the listener's head well after the song has ended, satisfying rock fans of all sub-genres."
"Born in the shadow of New York City; some 20 miles west of its lavish neon clutches, The Nectars climbed out of the tangle of New Jersey suburbs and into the local indie rock consciousness. With the band, still under a year since inception, they’ve already mercilessly conquered dozens of shows, most notably a month long residency at NYC nightlife staple, Pianos. Brainchild of Jon Paul (Bass/Vocals) and Mike “Mad Dog” Montalbano (Drums), The Nectars are already proving to be one of those special bands that are conceived in a basement and end up in an arena.
After recruiting friend and veteran session musician Michael Baron (Guitar) the boys were eager to complete the imagined quartet with an effervescent front. In comes Jessica Kenny (Vocalist/Front Woman) and childhood friend of Mikes. Processing a raw vocal prowess rarely found in someone who’s first legal drink was just a few months ago, the band was finally ready for anything. Now, with scores of crowds firmly under their collective belt and an EP in the works this is one band you shouldn’t miss in 2017!
