OddKidOut (Butch Serianni) is a 21 year old West Philadelphia-based drummer and producer. He has been drumming since the age of 6, accumulating renown in the Philadelphia music scene for his prodigious talents. The young virtuoso has also become a famous figure in the international digital media space for his drumming, production, and MPC skills.
At the age of 11, OddKidOut joined Philadelphia’s acclaimed School of Rock (five years ahead of the typical age for admission). Two years later, still only 13, he began touring locally as a drummer for rockers John Eddie and Jeffrey Gaines, further establishing OddKidOut’s placement in the Philly music scene. Throughout his ensuing teenage years, he worked with Grammy Award-winning producer David Ivory, among many others.
2016 was a big year for OddKidOut. Simultaneously while pursuing his education at Drexel University, the talented young OddKidOut released his autobiographical EP, Within, on his own label OddKidOut Records — a triumphant debut that featured past, present, and future Philadelphia legends as vocal guests. Further, he witnessed major coverage from Instagram’s official music account & blog (@Music), and closed deals with Adidas Asia, Chevy, HypeBeast, K-Swiss and an Artist Partnership with Native Instruments. To cap off 2016, OddKidOut released a remix of Columbia Records’ “Frenship – Capsize,” as well as signed to AWAL/Kobalt for distribution of his OddKidOut Records.
OddKidOut has started 2017 off on a new path with his most recent EP with London artist, 1403, "Full Circle."
I am a 20-year-old rap artist from Strawberry Mansion, one of the poorest neighborhoods in metropolitan Philadelphia. Growing up, we all struggled to have positive role models and to achieve recognition in our community, and I found myself in street activities. With a reputation to uphold, I’m never going to let my struggles be forgotten, and it’s with my younger days in mind that I look to use my music as a force for good in my efforts to connect and create. By the strength of a single mother and two older siblings, I am now attending Susquehanna University in Selingsgrove, Pennsylvania. Since eighth grade, music has been apart of my heart. Through life’s continued fortunes and misfortunes, music has given me the strength to share my story and experiences with you all.
