Great Scott!

Thursday nights in Broad Ripple were synonymous with Great Scott!. They cut their teeth playing weekly gigs when the drinks were cheap and strong and we all had way fewer responsibility. The after parties were just as entertaining as the product on stage. The Friday morning hangovers as fierce as the desert sun. The band will celebrate its 15-year anniversary and reunite for one night only (Friday, October 13th) at the newly expanded Hi-Fi in Fountain Square for a night of nostalgia, stiff drinks and rock n' roll. Butler alum Matt Record opens the show. We hope you'll join us.

A brother/sister duo initially began playing out at local bars and restaurants in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Their cousin soon joined them, turning the duo into a “family trio”, and they dubbed themselves “OFERLE”, named simply after their last name. Members are: vocalist Annette Offerle (22), guitarist/vocalist Luke Offerle (20), and pianist/guitarist/vocalist Jonah Baker (19). It wasn’t long before OFERLE’s hard work found them some great opportunities. In addition to the experience they were gathering from playing local shows nearly every weekend, collectively, they found themselves performing with the Jonas Brothers at The Klipsch Music center in Indianapolis, as well as receiving private invitations to audition for the hit television shows America’s Got Talent (Chicago), and The Voice (St. Louis). OFERLE has performed on the same stages as Matchbox 20, Switchfoot, Kip Moore, and many other widely known acts. OFERLE has found their niche playing acoustically driven music with modern pop influences. Currently working in the studio, they expect their single to be released “within the next couple of months”. As a family trio, OFERLE’s focus of putting family first will show through their music. Expect authentic, personal, and refreshingly raw music!

Matt Record is a solo artist playing all over Indianapolis and the great state of Indiana and beyond incorporating a wide variety of genres, dynamic, powerful vocals, expert guitar work and even some looping. Previous outfits include The Magnet, based in Los Angeles, which debuted at the world famous Viper Room in 2003 and went on to record 3 EP’s. Then Matt relocated for a time to the shores of Oregon, writing songs at a drive thru coffee hut and recording them in a cabin on a lake outside of town. He also played bass in a country band and put in some jam work at a non-descript warehouse up against the sand dunes with Kevin “Wooly” Wolpoff and the old-timers Pablo and Turbo. Matt and Kevin also gigged and recorded with producer Troy Cypress Broadnax, formerly of The Toys, in Eugene.

Next was four years in the great city of Chicago and the band Kickbush. You can download the excellent self-titled 7 song EP Kickbush on iTunes and Amazon right now. Venues played included the renowned Double Door, Lincoln Hall, The Cubby Bear in Wrigleyville, Fitzgerald's and O'Sullivan's in the burbs, the Upland Brewery in Bloomington, Indiana, The Mousetrap, Spin, and C.T. Pepper’s in Indianapolis and many more throughout Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin.

Matt is currently looking around town for any quality talent he can work with and absorb: horns, organic keys, beat-makers, turntable-ists, bassist, cellist or someone to harmonize with vocally.
