Kontravoid, StatiqBloom, INTERVAL

While the world has been broiling under a downticking Doomsday clock, Cameron Findlay has returned with more offerings under his nom de guerre Kontravoid. Known for his previous work with Crystal Castles, TR/ST, Votiiv, and Parallels (composing a score for the Academy Award winning short Curfew), he has been electrically prolific since the release of his self-titled debut on Pretty Pretty Records and 7" release on Cititrax. Sequestered in the studio over the past winter, the man and the mask reappear with a new EP, So It Seems. Appealing to our own inner carnage, he dives into more punishing soundscapes, winding the tension like a bear trap. He is searching in the gloom for a darker shade of black, abandoning elements of pop to accomplish a sleeker, more ferocious culmination of dissonance.
