Death Metal Dads
Bay Area punk and metal celebutantes Aesop Decker and Shelby Cobra dissect the world of death metal with insightful humor and wit that only a dad can provide.
Jesse has written for ABC, MSN, Starbucks, Frito-Lay, Hitachi, TED Talks, be a staff writer at World for about 4 years and head writer there for 3 years.
A formidable competitor, Jesse has 185 lbs. of pure human organs to flail unpredictably at his opponent in tonight's fight. Jesse has been training long and hard for the big fight, carefully watching martial arts movies for moves and conditioning his body by jogging nearly 3 miles per month. With a record of 0 wins and 0 loses, Jesse is a fearsome unknown in MMA fighting that has his opponents shaking in their singlets.
George Sukara & Land Smith
George Sukara & Land Smith have been best buds since high school. Together they made something called "Toobin". No one but them knows what "Toobin" is, but you definitely want to know, I promise.
Jesse Hett is widely believed to be "funny as hell." He carries the stage in a manner that is at once seemingly totally unprepared and yet totally in control. This guy will make even the most stony-faced discontent pee themselves with laughter.
Aviva is a stand-up comic by day, and a stand-up comic by night. Her jokes are silly (clown horn sound) yet personal (awooga), and she really just wants to have fun up there.
Scott Vermeire
Scott Vermeire is known for his character-based comedy and his rock band Sad Vicious. Scott is not a narc, he sincerely wants to party with you guys and also wants to know where to get the primo shit, in a very non-law enforcement kinda way.
A micro-thrash band borne from the east bay’s Burnt Ramen scene and whose name is also a descriptor for each of their songs. If you don’t like a particular tune, chillax, it’s already over.
TALKIES
Talkies is San Francisco’s best unconventional, experimental, and multi-media live comedy event! Every month comedians, writers, improvisers, and performers work outside of their regular routines to push the boundaries of comedy; slideshows, characters, oddball short films and off-stage antics are all the order of the day.
Since its beginnings in the basement of San Francisco’s Lost Weekend Video, this monthly variety show has been an incubator for many unique comedy talents spreading their wings on weird flights of fancy. Past guest performers have included Brent Weinbach, Ron Lynch, Myq Kaplan, Kate Rhoades, Eugene S. Robinson, Sad Vicious, Calvin Johnson, Beth Lisick, and Steve Lambert. The show is a regular feature of SF Sketchfest and almost always sells out.
The show is presented by the Talkies regulars Scott Vermeire, Nick Stargu, Aviva Siegel, Land Smith, and technical wizard Will Scovill.
$10.00 - $15.00
