Blair Packham

You never know what will come out of Blair Packham’s mouth. Could be a song, and maybe a story about where that song came from. Sometimes his stories are pretty funny, even if the songs are occasionally heartbreaking. Always looking for a human connection, Blair treasures his time on stage, whether solo or with his acoustic trio, the Good Bones. When he first started writing songs at age 17, Steve Goodman, John Prine, Elvis Costello, and the Beatles were inspirations, and Blair wore those influences proudly, forming a group called The Jitters in the early 1980s. The Jitters had hit records (“Last of the Red Hot Fools”; “Closer Every Day"), were Juno Award-nominated, and won a Toronto Music Award. In 2017, Blair wears many hats: as well as being a singer/songwriter (his first love) he is a producer, radio host, and composer of music for TV and film. Currently, Blair is wrapping up his third full-length recording for release in the Spring of 2017.

Patrick Ballantyne

If songs were grains of salt, Patrick Ballantyne is the saltshaker. Songs appear to flow effortlessly from Patrick Ballantyne.  A sought after co-writer with cuts on over 10 albums and 2 solo albums of his own, his catalogue is continually expanding. Playing it safe as a lawyer by day, Ballantyne reserves risk-taking for his music. Never content to replicate, Patrick is innovative and experimental. He blends and bends genres, while maintaining an emphasis on melodies and lyrics. His body of work spans multiple genres, yet every song contains a deeply personal and soulful aspect. His latest (sardonically titled) endeavor “Hit-a-month” showcases his “breath-taking range” and enables him to expose his music in an immediate and intimate way.

This Toronto-based Singer/ Songwriter, has been writing songs since he first picked up a guitar at the age of 14. Heavily influenced by the sounds of his hometown station CKLW, you can hear echoes of the motor cities in his timeless songs. When not lawyering or songwriting, Patrick spends his time serving on industry panels, performing at songwriting circles, mentoring, running, and spending time with his family.
