Leela James sings because the music is in her blood. It always has been. Rhythm accompanied her as a child in Compton, CA. Melody is what got her her first major label deal at 20 years old. And now, set to release her sixth studio album Did It For Love on 3/31/17, a personal magnum opus written with her two beautiful children in mind? Harmony and soul.
This spring, James will embark on a headlining nationwide tour in support of Did It For Love. The album’s first single, Don’t Want You Back, is already top 5 on the Urban AC charts and continues to rise. Spotify shows fans in 60+ countries. All this on the back of her critically acclaimed 2014 album Fall For You, which featured three top 15 hits including Say That and the cultural touchstone Fall For You.
For James, dedicating her energy entirely to writing and recording Did It For Love left her aching to get back on the road. “I am so excited to be going back on tour. There’s nothing like interacting with people and seeing how the crowd reacts to my new music. This album has been a wonderful experience, just an incredible project to work on. I feel so positive and I want to try to bring that onstage, and to everyone I meet.”

Daley is a singer, songwriter and recording artist hailing from Manchester, UK.
A British boy who grew up to the sounds of Prince, Chaka Khan, D'Angelo, Radiohead and Oasis - Daley first became prominent after co-writing and featuring on the Gorillaz hit ‘Doncamatic' under the wing of the band's creator Damon Albarn in London. He has since become one of the UK's most respected soulful exports, recording and touring on both sides of the Atlantic and working with the likes of Pharrell Williams, Miguel, Jessie J, Emeli Sande, Maxwell, Jill Scott and Marsha Ambrosius.
His first solo work the 'Those Who Wait' EP was independently released and introduced the world to Daley's brand of Alternative R&B / Soul experimental Pop, and an undeniable male voice. It gave rise to an unexpected surge of popularity in the US with Marsha Ambrosius assisted duet 'Alone Together' - which after a tentative release became a runaway Top 5 hit at R&B radio. Largely hailed a 'new classic' the project garnered Daley kudos from The Grammys, BET, Soul Train and MOBO awards and a loyal international fanbase.
The following year saw Top 20 singles in the UK charts - 'Remember Me' featuring Jessie J and 'Broken'. His debut album 'Days & Nights' was released shortly after via Universal Republic Records to critical acclaim and boasting contributions from Pharrell Williams, Illangelo (The Weeknd) Bernard Butler (Suede) and Andre Harris (Usher, Jill Scott) The album gave rise to another Top 10 R&B radio single 'Look Up' and was followed by several sold-out headline tours around the US and Europe. Daley described the project as a ‘diary of sorts’, showcasing some of his most vulnerable creative and carefully-crafted songs to date.
With a new single arriving Spring 2017, and currently adding the final touches to his second album project Daley is drawing on experiences both professional and personal of the last two years, honouring the loss of close friend and manager Richard Antwi, and is poised to open the door on the next chapter of his musical journey with renewed perspective... and eagerly awaited new music!
