The block party will consist of 6 performance stages: 3 stages inside the venue of Hole in the Wall, 1 stage behind Cream Vintage, and 2 stages put up on San Antonio St: behind Terra Burger and Hole in the Wall. All stages will have their own schedules and not overlap with each other for the value of quality entertainment. The block party will take place on the street behind all the shops mentioned above on Guadalupe St known as San Antonio St. The only section of the block that will be fenced in and closed off will consist of only the merchants listed above who are all directly connected to each other.

Bang Bang Eche

Bang Bang Eche was never going to let being from New Zealand's South Island impede their success. From the very beginning the group of youngsters established themselves around a hunger for touring. Their ferocious approach towards the live show quickly led them across the globe. In 2008, Bang Bang Eche traveled to the United States to play CMJ Music Marathon and tour the country's DIY circuit. Immediately afterwards, they toured parts of Europe (opening for The Faint when they weren't headlin... (more)ing). Finishing off their first full year as a band, Bang Bang Eche played the Rhythm & Vines festival in the very first part of the world to welcome the New Year, along with Franz Ferdinand and The Kooks. From there, they took the grand prize of the national Big Day Out contest, walking away with a slot at the legendary festival. This year started with the group leaving home again for SXSW in Texas, to the U.K. for The Great Escape, parts of Europe they've yet to visit and their first Australian tour. In the latter part of 2008, their single, "4 To The Floor," debuted at No. 1 on US Commercial Alternative Specialty Show charts, came in top 5 most added at North American college radio and broke the top 50 on CMJ's Radio 200, and was the No. 2 most played self-released album in the US. Their live performance for Seattle radio station KEXP during CMJ led to several extensive online features. In their home country, Bang Bang Eche's debut, self-titled EP yielded two No. 1 (and one top 5) singles on bFM (NZ’s premiere college radio station), a 16-week run on the Radioscope chart (with a peak at No. 3) and regular TV appearances across the territory. Bang Bang Eche’s video for "4 To The Floor" was created during a rambunctious homeland performance in front of a ready crowd. Accurately capturing the frenetic energy that has garnered international attention, "4 To The Floor" acts as a tease to those who have yet to witness the band live.

The Hounds Below, a new band formed by Jason Stollsteimer, shine new light on a classic sound. Focusing on the beauty rather than the volume of the song, the six-piece band creates a melodic landscape that layers a lush, early rock-and-roll vibe over spacey guitars and an atmospheric-sounding organ. Bonding over a mutual appreciation of old and new music alike--everything from Roy Orbison to Black Rebel Motorcycle Club--the Hounds Below have a sound that spans decades, yet is distinctively their... Real Detroit columnist Jeff Milo describes the Hounds' style as "presenting a swathe of moodier R&B, smoky soul, stately 50's pop, and still maintaining that dreamy atmospheric fuzz rock sheen." In the trenches of a post-divorce state of mind, Stollsteimer began writing dark, alluring ballads that would eventually give rise to the Hounds Below. With every reverberating note, the band captures the remorse and poetry behind lost love. But that's not to say that all of their songs are lachrymose. Findlay Brown

British singer/songwriter Findlay Brown spent his formative years bare-knuckle fighting in the East Ridings region of Yorkshire. A chance encounter with a Jimi Hendrix record eventually turned the jail-bound youth from brawler to musician, and upon relocating to York, Brown became immersed in the local music scene. Financially destitute, the newly minted artist sold the Beatles autographs his grandfather had given him, bought himself a guitar, and eventually moved to London to pursue a solo care... (more)er. Brown’s unique blend of psychedelic rock and alternative country soon caught the ear of London-based record label All Good Things, who released his debut single, "Down Among the Dead Men," in May 2006. That same year he signed to Peacefrog Records and released the EP Losing the Will to Survive, followed by the full-length Separated by the Sea in 2007. His U.S. debut, Love Will Find You, arrived in 2009 on the Verve Forecast label.

Holiday Shores

Songwriter Nathan Pemberton grew up on Holiday Shores Court, a two-block stretch of road located on the Florida panhandle. With breaking waves and sandy beaches nearby, he began playing piano at age seven and picked up the guitar several years later, leading to a number of memberships in teenage bands and college groups. The geography of his home turf continued to inspire his writing, though, and he launched Holiday Shores in his early twenties, rounding out the band’s lineup with Josh Martin,... (more) Ryan O'Malley, and Peejay Perez de Alejo. The group made its studio debut in 2009 with the release of Columbus’d the Whim, a collection of lo-fi, summery pop songs.

That Ghost

Santa Rosa, CA is about fifty-five miles north of San Francisco off the 101 highway, the largest city in California’s wine country and home at times to ultimo artistes like the late Charles Shultz and Tom Waits. That Ghost is Ryan Schmale, an eighteen year old Santa Rosa resident who makes fuzzy pop music that sounds like Guided By Voices dealing with the pressures of high school (which, I guess, is kind of what it is). According to dude’s MySpace, he’s already chalked up five out of print... (more) releases since December of 2006, including three full-lengths and two EPs (holler prodigies), but just finally released his first proper seven-inch on Brooklyn startup Two Syllable last week. We’ve got the A-Side for download—“I Crossed Out The Options”, a swift three-chord pop song sticky with over-trebled guitars and Schmale doing his best Jonathan Richman by mumbling lines about calling and walking down halls and wasting time and stuff like that. This, however, will not waste your time, unless you consider sitting around drinking Dr. Pepper and eating goldfish while listening to records a waste of time, which would be pretty lame.

The Points North

The Points North is an expression of spirits found in the eastern seaboard's northernmost major city- home to beauty, kindness, love, isolation, and longing. Chris North Alspach is a former small-city photojournalist and has attended many house fires, camera in hand. Regina Peterson grew up playing flute in her family's church, and began collaborating with Alspach in summer 2006 under the name Saint Joe Hazelwood. A year later the pair met Dylan Clark at a show in a Pennsylvania cornfield whi... (more)le Clark was in the midst of a two-month U.S. tour drumming for Tigersaw. The trio quickly bonded over reminiscence of their shared childhood home of rural Central Massachusetts. The Points North performed their first show in Cambridge in February 2008 and went on to perform 40 shows and release a split cassette before the end of the year. In 2009 The Points North played 70 shows throughout the northeast and released the 12" LP I Saw Across The Sound , which has since received dozens of reviews and was recently named a top local release of 2009 by The Boston Globe. In November The Points North gained bassist Evan Foudray, whom they had met a year earlier while playing at a campfire in the woods of Maine. In January and February 2010 The Points North temporarily relocated to Victoria, Australia to record their yet-to-be-released sophomore album with Adam Casey of The Boy Who Spoke Clouds.
