I'm also right blown away by the catchy and compelling all-purpose psychedelia of THE LEGEND OF BLACK SIX by power trio The Phantom Family Halo. I say 'all purpose' because this stuff is useful and should be available by the vat on prescription, because it's good for the mental health. I say power trio, but this lot are greedy motherfuckers with a hefty set of auxiliary members. The sound is totally reminiscent of that 1970 period when no fucker could control the number of overdubs, and these guys pass through every stage from The Youngbloods and Kalackakra to a kind of Amon Duul PARADIESWARTS DUUL-informed take on David Voorhaus' White Noise project via early (very early) Chrome on their way to the proto metal of 'Electric God In Your Galaxy'. The Loom is a Brooklyn-based indie rock band. Formed in New York City in 2006, the band consists of six members playing a variety of instruments including guitars, mandolin, French horn, trumpet, banjo, ukelele, percussion, keyboards, and male/female vocals.

The band released their debut EP "At Last Light" in 2008 and subsequently went on tour and played Pop Montreal and CMJ Music Festivals. In early 2010 they completed their first full-length album entitled "Teeth", recorded at Maverick Studios in Chinatown, New York, with producer Allen Farmelo and mastered at Masterdisk Studios, with album artwork by Asthmatic Kitty artist DM Stith.

The Loom played 8 shows at SXSW Music Fest 2010, including the Muzzle of Bees Backyard Barbecue with Rural Alberta Advantage, The Love Language, and others. They were featured in Paste Magazine's "Best of What's Next", and of their live show The New Yorker said, "The beloved Loom...have lately been guiding their chamber-folk sound to decidedly louder sonic territory."

In summer 2010 they toured the Midwest, Northeast and Canada, and they have planned more touring through the fall and winter including CMJ to promote their unreleased album. They were recently called "The Next Big Thing" by the New York Times.

OLD BABY is a new Louisville-based band consisting of Todd Cook (SHIPPING NEWS, SLINT, KINGS DAUGHTERS AND SONS), Evan Patterson (YOUNG WIDOWS) Jonathan Glen Wood, Neil Argabright (SAPAT), and Drew Osborn (WORKERS). This tour marks their debut, which we are sure will be auspicious, certainly not suspicious.
